It's hard to imagine, but I suppose it's possible if Trump orders law enforcement or the military to do something illegal (rejected by the courts) and some agree and some refuse. They have all taken an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and many take that oath seriously. Even so, I can't imagine the military warring against itself. I can imagine a large number of refusals to follow Trump, even at the very highest levels. I hope it won't come to that -- that there will be a general consensus that the courts must be obeyed.

Yes I think so. Unless the courts can make some good decisions that can be enforced, I think we are headed toward a very bad situation ultimately. Our president is a mentally ill person who has either hired or appointed another mentally ill person to run our government. They are making a complete hash of it. I am not sure how far this has to go, but a substantial portion of the population seems to believe they are doing the right thing. The rest of us don't believe that at all. That is going to lead to some pretty ugly consequences, I'm afraid.

The American people opted for this and I'm old enough to remember the anti-Iraq war protests. There aren't big antiwar protests right now for any of the three wars Trump has hinted at or proposed.

WWIII during the next to 10 years is a realistic scenario but at this point it's too soon to say whether Trump has made it more or less likely.
Good news is that it has been postponed at least until spring 2026.
Unless if USA begins it by starting a conventional war against NATO.
