That word, TERRIBLE, is an onerous red flag. I'd certainly want to know what had CHANGED about this person if they'd left a trail of broken hearts and possibly limbs behind them.

Nope. It's actually why I let go of someone recently. Though he did apparently make a few exceptions for me, the combo of his reputation and his mannerisms towards me (hot and cold) indicate a serial noncommittal streak I won't tolerate.

I would, I believe people can change and they can grow. If I didn't then that would mean I'd have to believe that I couldn't grow or evolve myself and that is something I refuse too believe such a thing

It’s a red flag and they may be tricking you. That said you would probably just want to really be on the lookout for signs that those rumors are true
