The reason I'm asking is because my dad has been bringing home walnuts, but we don't have anything to crack them with, and it just so happens that I will be in Leavenworth this weekend, and I was thinking of buying my mom a nutcracker. But if I can't actually crack a nut with them, I don't see the point

I think so. It’s an expectation that a man is supposed to share his finance and resource with a woman (by getting married, a huge risk).
So what do we get in return?

Traditionally it was that you had a woman that belonged to you, also taking your surname. Is that still the case?

Why would men get married to a woman if he doesn’t get this? It seems like a scam. Why do men always have to work hard and then lose it if a woman decides. Why is the risk on us? We need to have control over the woman otherwise it’s a scam.

Rose was long known to baseball officials as a horse bettor. He was warned repeatedly by MLB officials to curtail his gambling, and in the late 1980s, Rose, then the Reds manager, was investigated to determine if any of his activity was illegal. The report revealed that Rose had bet regularly on a variety of sports, and though Rose vehemently denied it, baseball included. In August 1989, he was banned from the game then declared ineligible for election to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Exposed gambling winnings caused him to spend several months in jail for evasion of taxes.

In 2002 he admitted he had bet regularly on baseball, including on games played by the Reds while he was their manager, though never against them, asserting that he “would rather die than lose a baseball game.”

If you’re 20 and pretty, you’re valuable. People want you, endless attention, treat you better and you don’t have to work for much. You can just find a rich husband and live a life that is far away from the realities of life particularly for the average man.

Even a man who has been really blessed with much still has to go out a prove himself to the world to garner any attention and reward.
