Here we just call them gift baskets, a lot of companies waste a lot of money on them, very few of them are filled with stuff of any value. I was waiting at reception for sn appointment and a delivery guy cane in with about ten of them for various persons in the company and the receptionist told him to just put them in the corner with the other ones. There must of been 30 or 40 of them. I asked her whstvthey did with them and she said they're mostly filled with junk so we wait and send all the ones we get to charity.
We have that in America, but it’s much better. Hickory farms with different mustard, crackers and cheese all kinds of different high-quality cheeses and sausages and beef. It’s actually quite tasty. It’s very popular google it Hickory Farms and they give you these real sweet, good strawberry candy and it’s really interesting when you bite into it
The quality of the hamper varies a lot in the UK depending on where you go and what your willing to pay. A delicatessen will do a better one than the local gift shop.
Some hampers are actually really good. But I feel like they're hard to come by. I'm essentially going to make one for my Secret Santa person. He's my cousins boyfriend, don't know all that much about him but I am his Secret Santa. I'm thinking of popping a couple cans of some nice craft beers, some sweets and other assorted goodies. Any other ideas welcome!
I think it's meant to be like a gift maybe? It's like those lynx or soap n glory box sets.

Yeah we have the same thing here they come in baskets and it usually has stuff in it that I've never tried before so I enjoy those and even the stuff in your pictures I like that too because I've never had that I would try it
Other than that the only other thing I have is a dirty clothes hamper and it just has dirty clothes in it and if somebody wants to try it they can LOL
Other than the occasional "romantic" gift, when I buy gifts, I buy things that are useful. Crappy foodstuffs that I would never normally buy is not what I consider useful. I often buy "nice" food or related products: high-end candy or coffee and things like that - things that will actually get enthusiastically used. I don't want to buy anything that's going to sit in a closet for months before being thrown out.
They remind me of the little bags that some people used to give out for Halloween. They contained a bunch of random candy that they found in their cupboards left over from various events/
I've never bought one, though some of my relatives have received them.
I used to make em in my golf shop , it was all about presentation and getting rid of a bunch of stuff at full price that didn't normally sell.
Then you just made em into unit price $20 / $40 / $ 50 / $100 / $150 , they were great for our business ( only thing better was gift voucher ) and some people like a tangible gift , great for clearing stuff.
Would I ever buy one? No... I appreciate its a rip off , just like a show bag.
I really like this internet era because I can post anything going through my mind and it just magically appears in a public space where many people can read it. No matter the content or significance itself, it looks like I can waste people's time by writing nothing substantial. What did I want to say? Ah, yes, I have no opinions whatsoever about these hampers. Thanks poppy!
The majority of items in a hamper are not worth the cost. Making my own hamper and distributing it to my loved ones is what I prefer.
@gym_bro The more I study the extreme cold fronts, caused by dips in the jet stream, the more I'm convinced we should nuke Greenland. Thoughts?
@Horn_Hog No, hear me out. If we flatten Greenland, then it will no longer disrupt the jet stream. The winds around the North Pole will move west to east in a steadier fashion. Thus, our friends in the Southern USA won't have to experience cold fronts caused by the displacement of Arctic air. More importantly, the strength of the Polar Vortex, and thus Santa's magick, will be increased.
Yeah I get them from time to time those are not bad it gives cuz you figure everybody likes something that comes with that you know don't know they're not bad gifts because who doesn't like crackers cheese and all the spreadings
I like to make them myself with home baked goods. ❤️ but I have found some store bought ones that were good too.
Hit or miss on contents but not enough wheat to buy, too much chaff
Great for thoughtless last min gifts that still pass.
Been given some, fun is burn out the wicker afterwards
Ideal if you can find any left at the petrol station on Christmas morning,,,
There kind of pricey
I think they’re lovely
Not a big fan of Christmas. So wouldn’t care.
