Isn't it weird to have your first relationship at the age of 24/25?

In comparing to some of my friends, once in a while I do feel left behind. I'm late bloomer.

Yes, at some point the conversation of our past came out and one day she did asked me the question of who my first was (after she told me hers), which I ended saying ''It was you just a couple hours before my 25th b-day (this was way back towards mid Jan)'' but it was kind of embarrassing saying it.

I'm not really a fan of lying and wouldn't know how to elaborate a lie.

It's not weird! I'm 25 and I haven't had a "real" boyfriend yet. Everyone's different. There are so many reasons why some people haven't been in a relationship until later in their lives. For example, some people are willing to settle just to have someone to call a significant other while others are not. It's great that you didn't lie about it. It shows you're genuine and you probably gained her trust!

Personally, I think it's great that you're not like everyone else. Sometimes we get so caught up in what other people are doing, we forget what is right for us.

It's like there's this unspoken code that we have to do certain things when everyone else does, which is just ridiculous.

I didn't have my first real relationship til I was 22 (almost 23) and it doesn't affect me in the least.

Just be honest and say that you haven't met the right girl yet.

I guess it's how society tends to want to portray us. For the longest, we've been portrayed as being able to get a girl as early as your freshman yr. Back then, many were already talking about the girl they asked out and certain even about sex while I was at nothing then.

But you're right though. If only society change and didn't put this pressure on us about getting girls ASAP just like women aren't pressure to get a bf early.

Yeah, it sucks because you're right...there's tons of societal pressures to do certain things in certain ways, and dating is no exception.

Just trust me when I say that 25 is so, SO young. As long as you keep taking the necessary steps in order to advance, then you'll get there soon enough.

It's just kind of depressing.. I'm pretty sure on Facebook relation status changes have priority over news stories. One girl who I do like and have for 6 years now I just repaired the relationship but I don't know if she is over the hurt.. I really hope she would give me a second chance since we are both older now and wiser. Oh the upside is has been friendly but that could mean anything.

She's my gf but we have been talking about forming a family in the near future. Thing is I wasn't saving it for marriage but back then I was kind of shy (always been like that in my HS years) and not the type of guy go clubbing. I was an involuntary virgin.
I'm glad to have a relationship finally and she doesn't mind about my former status but this had been a bit depressed for years back then.
