No way! My boyfriend plays professionally in a metal band and I mostly listen to country, jazz, & folksy indie stuff. Though I do occasionally enjoy some metal music here and there when I'm in the mood for it, so don't exactly hate metal.
Oops, ignore my weird! I read it on the side thing without reading your description. I thought you meant is it weird that she would think you have to like the same music. I change my answer to not weird!
Opposites attract having too much similarities gets boring and that's not a bad thing My bf HATES my music and I don't mind his it just sucks we can't agree on one type of music when were on road trips lol
Umm.. We both love the exact type of songs and are huge fan of same bands and singers.. Our taste in music is totally similar.. But its not weird if you both are completely opposite just as you do not force each other in our way..
Me and my boyfriend have pretty different music he hates anything that isn't Rap or Reggae and sometimes i'll listen to his music occasionally if he ask me but he absolutely hates the music I listen to😂
eh I'm one of those people who will listen to anything that sounds good. I like a lot of pop music but then I also really love indie folk music. Some days I'll listen to some alternative other days I'll listen to my boyfriends music.😂
My husband and I have completely different tastes in music. Sometimes it annoys him when we're on long road trips and can't agree, but otherwise it's fine.
I listen to Reggaeton (Spanish hip hop/rap) and he listens to rock/hip hop/country etc..
Well, is not weird. When you are in a relationship, not everything need to match, after all we are all unique and have different opinions. I would support his music taste if he does with mine, is not like I will be forcing him to like mine.
No way do you HAVE to like the same music. It's a bonus because no fighting for what's good and what's not and what's playing in the car and also a common interest. BUT, you can take turns of music in car and listening to the same music isn't what makes a relationship lol

In the car we just listen to her music, because I can put up with country, but I would never try to make her jam to slayer in the car haha
I have a very eclectic music taste. I listen to mostly classic rock and country, but do like some pop and r&b. He listens to classic rock and a little r&b, but is not a fan of country really at all. I don't think it is weird.
Totally not weird. I like almost all genres (my favorites are rock, indie and classical), but I really don't like anything techno-like or hard-core or something. I wouldn't mind if my boyfriend did, but he doesn't have to let me hear it.
Not weird! As long as you guys don't force each other to listen to it. My boyfriend and I had an issue like that & got into a big argument. Just like what you like, and if she's open, show her a song or two, but if she's not into it, do not push it.
It's really freaking unusual to find someone with the same music tastes, actually. It's really helpful to have some overlap that you both like, but most people in general have dreadful taste in music.
Of course it isn't weird! You are different people, and whilst I get that some couples have a certain style of music as their common hobby, why should you? What fun would it be if everyone was the same?
I love metal and my boyfriend loves rap. he's mexican and listens to mexican bands too, and he likes metal. My point is, collaborate, get into her music and she will get into yours
I don't think it's weird at all. Might be a bit sad that you can''t listen to music together but there are other, way more fun things you guys can do together hehe.
Thst's not weird at all. I listen to classical music but he's all modern and can't tell apart Bach and Mozart!! He says every classical composer is "Beethoven" even after I've told him the name.

That's really immature and childish to think that.
People should be able to accept people's difference in taste and opinions.
Maybe you can open your mind a little and try to listen to things you don't necessarily like.
opposites attract... and also make excellent alchemy.
but if you cannot listen to her music, then you cannot mesh as souls...
time to move on...
if she was really worth it, you won't ask this question.
