whoever said that white men prefer dark women is lying. its the biggest myth out there. in college i know the white male professors did not like me contacting them for help and seemed to be much more receptive to white girls or fairskinned black girls. i recall one who got annoyed anytime i raised my hand or even tried to reach out to him for help.

the same thing happens at work. its ok for the fairskin and white girls to reach out for help by managers and to network with them but i can't because i'm not lightskin or pretty enough. i'm treated like im disgusting, dirty and tainted. i'm too depressed to even be productive and i get angry when i watch the discrimination go on

You can see that the media and propaganda is not a representation of reality, it's just politics, they can't show white guys being dominant men and with women of other races (Black girls, any women) because it hurts the ego of men of other races, it's like an anti-racism based on boycott for white guys dating non-white girls but white girls are always portrayed out to support the guys of other races wanting them because of this kind of politics promoved.

You watch TV? (Couples between white guys and white girls don't count because it's the default and the majority of population and are men and women of the same race)

Black guys takes first place. Second place probably goes to the white woman because they have immunity to really have privileges with nothing against then, gazing at the heroic black guy, her eyes shining with admiration in the scene, then we have other race combinations can fill out the middle ranks. White guys, comes in last sometimes with black girls, probably tripping, and certainly making a fool of himself after arrogantly bragging to the others about how fast he was. They need to make this to be a turn off and don't hurt the ego of the guys of other races in a weird anti-racist politics that means just boycott couples between white guys and non-white girls.

None of this does me any justice when everyday when I go out into the REAL WORLD I am being treated less than human because of my racial background and darkskin tone.

When I report to work, I have white men who treat me as a disgusting rodent because I don't look like a Beyonce.

I've had professors who pushed me away because they didn't want to help a darkskin African American student however they had no issues flirting and helping out the lightskin and biracial students

I am absolutely positive that my darkskin and feature are the reason why I get treated with contempt at work and school. All of the fairskin women are free to reach out for help even if they are overweight however since I'm darkskin with black features they are disgusted by me. If someone is in fact treating you badly because of your skin color something is wrong with THEM, not you. In the media, since the days of slavery, there have been negative stereotypes about dark skin black women that are influenced by racism. Yes, racism still can exist today.

As for what you are saying, i happen to find myself very attracted to dark skinned girls. In fact, the darker her skin the more i find them attractive and sometimes i even found myself sexually aroused just by looking at a dark skinned girl.

Many times just by looking at someones face people will assume things about that person based on how their face reactions are. for example, if someone looks always angry and pulls a mean look on their face then people will already assume this person is a 'bitch' and will tend to not get close to them even though they never got to KNOW them or talk to them. while if someone looks happy and calm with then people will feel more comfortable towards them. Don't forget that our FACE reflects what we think or feel, so if we are feeling ANGRY then our face will look angry! if we are feeling really happy then our face will look Happy because it will be more relaxed.

Whether you are dark-skinned, white skinned, yellow-skinned, or freakin purple-skinned, if you have a bad attitude then people will look to you in a bad way.

Thirdly, the "you look mean" argument is flawed and often used as a scapegoat to justify one's hatred for darkskin black women. I have had many, many associations in my life. I have been friends with many, many people, and been attracted to many of them. My attractions are based on personal interests and preferences, so if I did not find myself interested in you, that would be my own business. But I do not treat people in other situations in ways that are disrespectful, nor do I form opinions based on skin color. And as for teachers, I have taught many classes, and skin color or attractiveness NEVER affected how I treated the student, and I answered all questions with interest and respect. But my attitude did change based on how the person presented themselves, both in appearance (mainly clothing) and attitude towards me.

I found that to be the case with all teachers I knew. so I have to presume that your instructors had a problem with you in ways other than your skin color or your attractiveness. I think you need to look closely at them and see if adjusting how you present yourself doesn't make a change in how you are perceived.

Ah man. You remind me very much about a friend of mine I knew in college.

She was also a dark skinned black woman. She lived in a rough area, in a single mother household, with pretty much an absent father.

Our school (UC Santa Barbara ) and the undergrad student body was less than 2% black. In our dorm of 550 students, there were 12 black students (including me).

She was fun to hang out with, but she was in a combative and defensive mode ALL the time. Constantly angry. Always pessimistic. It's almost like she was LOOKING for something to complain about at all times. At times downright bitchy.

Funny thing is because she comes off mad all the time, she ends up reaping what she sows (pessimism, confrontation) on a regular basis.

Class peers, TAs, professors, dorm mates... always had a tendency to not fully embrace her. Its like they were walking on eggshells and keeping her "at a distance", because she came out like a typical angry volatile black woman charicature (and frankly she was).

Pretty much her pessimism was turning everyone off.

There were plenty of other black students (of both genders, myself included) had no problem with instructor /student and peer / student relationships.

Even when it comes to dating... every guy she dated treated per poorly. Probably because like attracts like. She knocked up by a guy she just met from out of state, that intentionally took off the condom and nutted in her. To this day he completely abandoned her and the baby, and he has zero contact with his son.

She now has a 2nd child from a different absent father as well.

Her pessimism attracts other pessimistic people... self fulfilling prophecy.

I had a feeling that people may perceive me as being unholy, and promiscuous because I never talk about going to church. And being that I'm a black woman that makes it doubly hard for others to accept me. Religion is a private matter and no one else's business.

And to answer your question, yes, I do have internal anger after being treated poorly due to other people's misconception about me. Do I relay this pessimism to others in real life? No, I still try to be positive. I'm polite, friendly, smile all the time, never ever bad mouth anyone. But since i'm not a religious nut or jesus freak I'm considered evil no matter how friendly, social and sweet I am towards other people.

It's not the area I'm in. It happens ALL OVER. I experienced this same discrimination online from men in different parts of the world. The men were more receptive to lightskinned black and non black women. The white men were very antagonistic towards me and acted as if I was beneath them to even have a simple conversation

In college, we would have group projects where we had to exchange phone numbers so we could get together for study groups. White men had no problems exchanging numbers with fairskin black girls however with me its was off limits. I go to work and smile. I'm very friendly and polite, however people will use the excuse that I'm too 'soft spoken' or that I'm not 'assertive' enough or 'too quiet'. why do my issues take a backseat to everything else?

I find the fact that Im discriminated against due to my darkskin and features to be humilating, depressing, hopeless, etc The fact that I'm constantly picked on, judged by it, and looked down upon makes me feel helpless. I dont even have enough self esteem to leave the house everyday

I read this politically correct BS online but its not translating to real life. I'm seeing a clear dispreference for women who look like me. I can't even network professionally because they dont like my skin tone, features or hair texture.

The actual understanding of racism and sexism and really any other form of discrimination is that people are more likely to support people of their own traits or people who hold greater Majority from a political viewpoint.
