What do couples talk about on a daily basis?

I don't see my girlfriend everyday, but we keep in contact via text and phone. There is a point where I pretty much run out of things to say because nothing special is gonna happen every single day so there is really not much to talk about.

On top of that, I am not a talkative person, so I really have no sense of thinking of topics, or if I come up something random, it would feel awkward. However, I do feel if there is nothing exciting to talk about, the relationship is gonna dry out really fast. Advice? Thanks!

We talk about things we see, things that have happened to us or people we know, about our jobs, or plans for the future.

Most of the time we don't talk about important or big stuff, just about day to day life.

Some days it's ok not to have a lot to talk about, and that's when you realize you are in a solid relationship, where you don't have to continuously pull rabbits out of your hat to maintain her/his interest, and you both feel comfortable around each other.

This is my first relationship and it is still new, too (7 months) so forgive me for being clueless lol. I agree on the first two parts but its really ok or normal to not have stuff to talk about on some days? Because I feel this is when the relationship becomes stale and boring.

yep, sometimes it's ok. It's different when you purposefully sabotage communications with your partner, i. e. don't share things, or do things together.

if you run out of topics to talk about, how about doing stuff together, so you have shared experiences? That always strengthens a couple. It could be playing video games together, or going hiking, or playing scrabble, or reading the same book and talking about it.
