Guys, what was it like the first time you cried in front of your significant other?

I've been with my boyfriend for almost three years. Last week, he found out that his cousin unexpectedly died -they were pretty close. He texted me to say that he was having a bad day, leaving work early, and he would talk to me about it later. His mom called me, told me what was going on, and said she was worried about my boyfriend. When I came home slightly, he was crying in our bedroom, he tried to hide it, but it was obvious. I just held him, told him that I loved him, and rubbed his back. Before we went to bed, he told me that he loved me, he wanted to plan something special soon, and we haven't talked about it again. He has seen me cry on numerous occasions and I don't know why he tried to hide that he was crying. Guys, what was it like the first time you cried in front of your significant other?
