What if I call him "buddy"?

My question is very short and simple.

If a guy ,who's very good friends with a certain girl, likes (or possibly is in love with her) her acts like he is not into her because he's shy, would it upset him if she started to call him 'buddy' or 'pal' or 'mate or 'friend' ?

Would it make him crack in the end, or would he just give up?

If a guy likes a girl, and the girl isn't showing interest because she's shy, the guy will eventually come to think the girl isn't interested. This happens ALL the time in high school, and I guess after that. If you want a chance with this guy you've got to make it more apparent your feelings.

As for calling him names, this can show a sign of affection, you've just got to be careful which words you use. Buddy might be fine. But really, I don't know much about all that so don't take my advice.

Seriously, just tell him how you feel, and if you can't do that, call him, text him, and hang out with him as often as you can. He'll get the message then.

Oh...no, that's not the problem...

He likes me a lot and I like him, but he keeps pretending he's just my friend, because he's afraid to do anything to make it more than friends!

So I want to 'piss him off' by calling him buddy or any kind of a name that just signifies FRIEND and nothing more. So my question is would that upset him, or not? Would it upset you if a girl you like keeps just calling you a good friend?

Well I might start to get scared she doesn't like me anymore. That's definitely for sure. Ever think about just being more touchy feely with him? Hang out with him LOTS more. If you do that enough something is bound to happen.

Yup. Well, we already hung out for three days alone and he did absolutely NOTHING! So, I'll just keep calling him a friend. Do you think that will make him DO SOMETHING ALREADY? Cause we've been like this for 8 months now and we've been friends for a year and a half! Very good friends.

Like I said, calling him a friend will likely cause him to think you don't want to be anything more than friends.

Why don't you just try cuddling with him? He doesn't HAVE to be the one to initiate stuff.

He pretends to have a 'girlfriend' so I would be jealous! It just makes me think he's an immature child! So, how can I make a move if I'm supposed to be thinking he 'has a girlfriend'?

Wait. When did he start saying he had a girlfriend? Before or after you started calling him names? Can you elaborate a lot more on this girlfriend thing? Is he just playing around with you?

He started saying he had a girlfriend one night when we were supposed to go out me and my friend and he and his friend. Not like a date or anything, just go partying. So, before we went there he texted me as a joke that nothing will happen between us tonight since he has a girlfriend. 'haha'

So I said I'm not feeling all that well to go out, so I kind ditched him! He deserved it! After that, he never mentioned his 'girlfriend' again, he is always calling me and asking me to go hang out with him,

But I no longer have the patience to keep this thing, whatever it is, going. So I just decided to label him a friend, and see what happens. I don't know what will happen, but I'll give it a shot and see.

So, what do you think is going on with him?

He is ALWAYS teasing me, and he said I'm his favorite person to tease....... You're a guy, so do you understand what is he doing, and why?

He probably made up the girlfriend to make you jealous. He was teasing you when he did it. I think if you two spend enough time together something will happen, but in the mean time, you can do what you want. You might flirt too, or tease him, jokingly say you have a boyfriend, but keep in mind this will more likely damage the relationship than help it. What do you want from him? Do you want to go out with him?

Yes, but I don't think I can take any more playing around, since I've passed up on some good guys because I thought something will come of this strange relationship! But, since we're both extremely shy, I honestly think nothing will come of it!

Is it just me, or if a guy really likes a girl he WOULD make a move no matter how shy he might be?!? So, I guess he might not like me that much........

That definitely isn't true. That's a cop out. If this guy likes you and isn't asking you out, it just means he's too shy. The same could be said to you, why aren't you asking him out, you said you like him, right? Or do you not really like him?

Don't hold him to standards like that. Just because he's a guy doesn't mean he's more assertive than you. If the guy's too damn shy then he's too damn shy, and you'll have to be the one to do something about it. Don't get mad at him for doing nothing,

Get mad at yourself for doing nothing. If you truly want something out of this relationship, make it known, don't chicken out and blame him for nothing ever happening.

It will discourage his intentions... But if he really likes you, he won't stop at that. He'll do ANYTHING to make you like him. If he's that kind of a guy.
