If the guy wants to be submissive and the lady wants to dominate, then it would be crazy for them to conform to society's norm that man is the master. Neither the man nor the woman will be happy trying to be something they are not.

I think that the gentle femdom you propose for these couples is probably the only type of femdom that is going to work in a long-term relationship.

A lot of submissive guys are more than happy to be given a spanking or to be pinned down and smothered. They like the image of a whip wielding leather clad dom, but few men actually want a strong woman to take a bull whip or cane to them on a regular basis.

There are guys who are successful in business and sports and prefer to dominate in most aspects of the relationship but like the woman to take control in the bedroom.

Even submissive men who want to be dominated in all aspects of the relationship will find that being completely controlled, eg being told what to wear, who they can see, etc, gets pretty tedious very quickly.

Of course there has to be some compromise. The guy might have to adjust his limits down if the lady wants to dominate more in the bedroom than he is initially comfortable with or the lady might have to accept that he has his limits. Similarly in other aspects of the relationship the lady might have to accept that the guy does want to make some decisions himself, but perhaps he lets her have the final say on major issues. Compromise is necessary in any relationship whether it is female led or conventional. However, in a female led relationship, in many cases it will be the guy who has to give more, as there seem to be many more submissive men than dominant ladies and the law of supply and demand applies.
