Karma is bullshit. There are loyal people and not loyal people. If you are good to loyal people over time you earn respect and they tend to remember what you have done for them. They tend to honor their commitment and do right by those who they care about. They tend to feel guilt when they hurt those people they care about. With people who are not loyal however, you could sink 30 years into them and they could turn their back on you in 10 seconds without reason. There is no magic force keeping people honest. It’s a personality thing. Some people hold themselves to higher standards and have principles; others don’t.

I don't mean that it keeps people honest. Like you said the selfish people turn their backs after they use you, so do they get same betrayal later?

How could they ever end up in the same position as someone that actually cares? People that consistently betray others never put their heart into a situation. They are not emotionally invested in others around them so they never face emotional devastation.

Good and bad things happen to everyone. So i believe everyone gets their "comupance " sooner or later. However, we don't always get the satisfaction of seeing it happen.

An ex of mine was abusive and when he was killed in a car crash people would say that's karma for how he treated me. I didn't see it that way , because he had siblings and parents that were devastated by his death.

He did. It was physical and emotional abuse. When I first found out he'd died, I felt a certain satisfaction because of how he treated me, but that sooner diminished when I saw the pain his family felt when he died. I hate to see people suffering.

I don't think he cheated. But he lied and manipulated, but I saw through it. He was emotionally abusive, but after I left him that's when he physically abused me

Eww i see. My ex was also a big manipulator who played me because he had no other option.
When i refused to patch up, he verbally abused me and spread horrible rumour about me in the most convincing way.

Rumours and lies can be very hurtful, but the people who matter in your life, those who know you, won't believe the lies because they know better. Experience with manipulative liars helps to strengthen your perception and intuition. So if ever you come across a lying manipulator in the future, you will be able to see the signs early on, before you become involved with the. Sadly, there are a lot of people like that out there, and we need to find the good people amongst the bad
