My partner wearing surprising clothing?

Hello all 🙂 bit of a surprise to day when my partner came round and he came in black shiny/satin leggings and a pair of plain black flats and wearing a white t shirt I’ve been with him a year an asked him why an he said he likes them an comfy but not interested in any other girls clothes an wanted to start wearing leggings and flats as every day attire, what would your reaction be? I’m i over reacting an let him be himself as it is 2021 an anything goes I’m just a bit surprised that’s all

Weird but it could be an indication of his confidence as he doesn't care what others think of him as long as he's comfortable, but I'm also positive that it's just a phase and he will grow out of it as people give him stares and comments about his attire, you just set back and watch the scenery of him getting over this type of clothing unfold.

I’ve said this but he’s dead cert he wants to wear this new look so I’ll support him if it makes him happy tbh I’m beginning to think he’s non binary he fits in the spectrum

Nah don't think that yet, you didn't mention any bisexual behavior in your question, which would be a key thing to mention, he wouldn't be non-binary without at least being bisexual first

I would be surprised. I think I can safely say that. It's important to remember that clothes are just clothes, though.

True- but they have strong associations. That's part of the appeal. Sometimes it's about comfort, sometimes it's about a joke, sometimes it's about wanting to feel feminine (we all have both masculine and feminine aspects; wanting to be in touch with the latter is kind of frowned upon for men, but it's not at all a bad thing). Sometimes it's just for fun, or to poke fun at social norms. Sometimes it's more than one reason, even if you're not aware of it. I've talked to crossdressers online whose wives and girlfriends FREAKED OUT completely when they found out; the critical thing is to keep a level head and remember that clothes are CLOTHES. Calm down and ask why, then go from there. The overlap between "cross-dresser" and "psycho killer" is very, very small.
