Duckpin bowling. Candlepin, too. They both use smaller, lighter balls, and harder-to-knock-over pins. I think the highest recording official score for a candlepin game is 245, and that's from what's basically a professional player. They both also have three rolls per frame, instead of two, and in candlepin (so named because the pins are perfectly straight, like a candle), the fallen pins aren't cleared between rolls, so not only can they be used to knock down upright pins, but a fallen pin that gets knocked straight again can be scored a second time! Sounds interesting, at least to me, but unfortunately, both of them are pretty much unique to New England, which I live nowhere near. But if I ever become fabulously wealthy...

Interestingly, the more common form of bowling (here in the US, at least) is known as "tenpin bowling", because it uses ten pins, as opposed to duckpin and candlepin, which both use... ten pins. Sometimes the world just makes no sense.
