Guys what would you do? Hypothetically, your super rich girlfriend/date buys you a really expensive watch but you don't like it or you don't wear the?

Would you tell her and try and have it taken back? Would you take it and never wear it? Would you wear it just since she got it for you? I mean a REALLY nice luxury watch. But the problem is you either don't like it or you just don't wear watches.

How would you avoid hurting her feelings? You go on a date. Right? You pay for her meal. You give her flowers. Maybe another little gift like some chocolates. Maybe you even get her a piece of jewelry. Even though you know she can afford that stuff you get it for her to be nice and show her that you love her. She loves it.

So the next date SHE BUYS YOU A 500 FUCKING DOLLAR LUXARY WATCH!!! But it isn't your style and you hardly ever even wear a watch.

To be honest I think I would just wear it. I could not turn down a gift I think it would crush her feelings and if she is a great lady... I just could not do that to her.

In fact just being from her I think I would wear it every day even if it was a cheapo watch.

Me personally, I'd like the watch, I'd only wear it in formal occasions though. I'd be concerned and question how well does she know me though because I don't care for gifts (unless they are useful)

I'm not concerned about hurting her feelings because I set expectations and boundaries. If she can't respect that, then it's best she take the gift back and we go our separate ways.

I wouldn't date a woman whose love language is "receiving gifts".

Well obviously that is not the only way that she shares love. People buy people gifts to show appreciation. A watch is useful to many people and to others... not so much. I have my phone and some cheap watches if I need them.

To me the more crap I have to worry about the more of a risk I break something, loose something, more stuff I have to worry about, etc.

But I don't know why someone would get ANGRY over someone doing something nice for them especially if you never even said that you don't want gifts and don't like them. Though I suppose if someone knew you they could find you something useful.

I have done it and had it done to me. And yes when I had my gift refused it hurt. But you cannot trade honest and sincere openness for an object. And the offer was from a place in the heart so that lasts as well. Accept the gift or not a warm thank you kiss will make it not matter.

I think you wouldn’t have to wear it every day. You can just wear it for special occasions and tell her that it’s so special that you only want to wear it on special days bc you don’t wanna risk damaging or losing it.

I also got my boyfriend and expensive gold bracelet once, I don’t think he really likes it that much, he only ever wears his favorite bracelet. Sometimes he does wear the bracelet that I gave him tho and it just lights me up 😊

Yea buying gifts for someone can be hard especially if you're just getting to know them and you don't really know their style very well. Even when you do know them it can be pretty hit or miss when buying someone something really no middle ground.

Never bothered me I was giving it to them so... They can do what they want with it.

I agree with you, once you gave them the gift then they should be able to do whatever they want with it (but let’s hope they won’t just throw out the gift or even worse… re-gift it to someone else lol)

You're right it sucks when they throw it away or regift it. But YES!!! It is the thought that counts. You also just don't need to go get something super expensive either. But 500 dollars to some people is not what 500 bucks is most people and I am gonna leave it at that.

I just am not a fan of watches. I hate lugging my phone around with me as it is. I always feel like I am going to break it in my pocket and going certain places with it is especially a pain in the ass.

I never worn a lot of jewelry or accessory's I find it uncomfortable. I always seem to find ways to break them. I can't stop messing with them... etc.
