What are good conversation topics to stay in the friendzone?

I (M, 26) met a clerk (F, similar age) at a local hardware store and flirted with her on several occasions. I learned from these conversations that we attend the same university but for different degrees. I finally asked for a contact path to get to know her off the clock. She took down my number but did not give me her number; accordingly, only she could initiate a text conversation. She said she had a boyfriend and cautioned me to only communicate as a friend. Therefore, to ask her out on a date is a terrible idea. A Google search for conversation questions returned many "neutral" ideas that still seem too flirtatious given the context. Perhaps that is due to my mindset and original intent. Thus, what are safe realms and concepts to discuss to minimize flirting, not feel like an interview, and maintain a platonic friendship? Or would it be wiser to move on?
