Do you think there’s an age where a guy is too old to get his first girlfriend?

I really feel like there is, and I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way. Obviously a guy can be too young to get his first girlfriend, but I feel like a guy can also be too old to have his first as well. Because at some point, I feel like a guy just becomes too used to being alone that he becomes so set in his ways that he can’t properly adapt to being in a relationship, in addition to the fact that a lot of girls probably won’t want to be an older guy’s first girlfriend and would rather be with someone who’s more familiar with how relationships work at that point. What do you think, can a guy be too old to get his first girlfriend?

There are definitely girls that go for the inexperienced yet mature guy vibe. It might be a minority but not at all rare.

And somewhere that is the key thing you need to accept in the whole dating and relationship world: You are not responsible for being who they like. They decide if they like who you are.
And almost every time, someone does. Sometimes you wish someone would not, really people what is so attractive about the abusive boyfriend stereotype, but someone almost always does.

And on a sidenote I used to know a guy in his 70s who had his first girlfriend at that age. Not what I'd wish on anyone but it was incredibly wholesome and made them both seem younger somehow. Although my involvement wasn't very close so can't comment much more. But no, not too late, never too late.

No- but beyond a certain point (beyond a series of certain points, actually) it grows more difficult.

What age do you think that would be, and do you think it gets more difficult because there are less girls willing to date someone with no experience or that it will be harder for the guy to adjust to a lifestyle where he’s in a relationship?

Well, like I said, it's an incremental thing; it doesn't happen all at once. And I don't think it's so much girls being unwilling to date someone without experience as girls being reluctant to get (or stay) involved with someone without the *lessons* of experience. Not QUITE the same thing.

Adjusting to the realities of a relationship is hard, but remember that you can be in one without living together; it's up to you as a couple to set the parameters and determine what you do and how. There's more wiggle room there than people who haven't been in that position think; it's getting in that's tricky.
