For me it’s been about once or twice these 2.5 years and today was one of the times.

It's common for people to expect their partner to make them feel a certain way. In a partnership, the responsibility for keeping a relationship new and alive is equal for both. If something is missing, look at what you may or may not be doing rather than what you believe the other should be doing.

If you are an active equal participant in your relationship, there's nothing wrong with discussing with him anything that feels out of the ordinary. If you want a positive result, never accuse, blame, criticize, demand or tell him what he should or shouldn't do. Show curiosity... a desire to see things through his eyes. Gain an understanding of how things are impacting him rather than insist he listen to how things are impacting you. If you want him to be open and honest, prioritize making sure he feels safe around you. Find out whether you are part of the problem (in his eyes); don't start with assumptions.

Sometimes, we get so wrapped up in our daily demands, we assume our partner should just understand and accept our distance, without taking it personally. Let him know you are his partner and truly want to help him carry the load, but you can't do that if he doesn't share it. The more you're there for him (in the important areas for him), the more he's likely to be there for you.

It's not normal not to feel loved.
It's normal to feel neglected if your SO is busy for a couple of days and you miss them.
But fully not loved means there's something very toxic going on because that feeling doesn't come out of thin air your SO must be doing something very wrong and needs to answer for it

Yup... I can't expect to be in a constant state of rainbows and butterflies though. I'm not sure if it's so much love like the kids would call it, but more like love in a way which means I'm stuck to this person.
