The third time is the charm, how true is this saying?

I'm likely about to break-up from another pointless relationship heading nowhere. He's taking too much time with worthless explanation about scientific studies, isn't even stable himself, giving excuses and extending things by another whole year. This was a specific relationship where we were dating with the purpose of forming a family at a quicker pace. He knew this from the beginning and is now coming with more BS.

This is the 2nd disappointment; another man wasting my time. My father believes in ''The third time is the charm''. How true is that? I suppose the 3rd time will be my final happy ending for me, hopefully.

3 is a magic number. The reason is that 1 in 3 sounds plausible - not so common to be implausible but not so uncommon as to be unlikely. It is often exploited by press releases by organisations seeking funding. Third time is the charm falls into this I think.

Sounds like the guy is not so willing to form a family at the quicker pace you want. Clearly you gave him your expectations. Honestly I am not so sure a 'marry me and get me pregnant' approach is going to work.

Sorry to say I think a lot of guys will back away from that. I know this is not what you want to hear but I have to call it as I see it.

I guess so. I think I'll just have to be more pickier or it's about luck sometimes. There must be a man out there that's looking for what a want (a family) and isn't going to take too much of my time.
