I'll be thirty in 3 years, who's trynna get married?

I've always told myself that I would NEVER settle. Like I didn't care if it happened now or when I'm 50, but I just wouldn't settle... I've got to a point where I may reconsider... Like marrying a friend, or just for companionship; to have someone to travel with or do things with. Is that weird?

Settling will always be a mistake, as you'll resent your partner, and your self-esteem will drop. There's a big difference between settling and being realistic. Ask yourself what you seek from a partner. Are you expecting handouts, or are these expectations you can achieve on your own with a bit of effort on your part? Prioritize the quality of person and compatibility when choosing a partner... not their assets.

Do you need a legal piece of paper if you are fine with companionship, a travel partner or someone to do things with? Yes, you could marry your BFF, but what would be your reasons for doing so? What can you get with the piece of paper that you couldn't get without the piece of paper. You may be putting too much energy into the piece of paper and not focusing enough on connecting with a compatible person. Quality people are out there, but we don't see them when we choose to stare at our wish list. Do volunteer work. That's a great opportunity to meet caring people.

I mean its totally fine if you don't want to do that. You seem ambitious and thats why you are considering settling down at a later stage of life. If i find a the right woman, i could marry anywhere between the age of 25-30. I mean you can still achieve your goals along with your SO.
