Anyone who is always inebriated is annoying. You can't have a real conversation with someone who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol all the time. You also can't be friends with someone who is addicted to drugs. They are unreliable, they have memory lapses, meaning they can say or do something inappropriate to you and never remember what they've said or done.

People who are sober most of the time don't cause these types of problems. You don't have to worry about them driving you or themselves home and you don't have to take care of them because they're inebriated.

Addictions like this are dangerous for friends and the person who's addiction.

i don't know any potheads but i know people who've had drinking problems or just are assholes when they drink so i went for alcoholic - but it depends on the person too, i would tolerate a pothead or alcoholic i like far more than someone i don't like, and it depends on how they are as a person too
