It's BS is what it is. It's a very clumsy attempt at a metaphor. What they're trying to get at is the harmony a man and woman can have/be together but instead it falls flat -- it either says that the woman can only be wholly realized by a man which is absurd or that she is his to play which is equally absurd at best or insulting at worst. This doesn't speak of togetherness it speaks of an unequal dependency. Of a powerless imbalance. It doesn't subtly hint at vulnerability and shared protection it's paternalistic and pandering.
