People with successful marriage, what was it like when you met your husband/wife?

We're not married, but are in a long term relationship that's like a marriage but without the legal status, so I feel like I'm qualified to answer this.

We met at a social event for a hobby we both enjoy. I immediately got the sense that she was someone I'd probably like doing things with, but neither of us was looking for a romantic relationship at the time so we just started doing things together related to the hobby as friends. Over time, we started to realize how much we enjoyed being together and how comfortable we felt with each other and the relationship transformed into a romance.

I looked at her and thought she was really pretty. The next day i ran into her in the grocery store. We walked together for a while and it seemed like i had known her all my life which after we got to know each other better it turned out that we did.
