One of the coolest things is the exposure to a whole new culture and traditions. My girlfriend's family celebrates festivals that I had never even heard of before, and the food—oh man, the food is amazing. We're talking dumplings, stir-fries, all kinds of stuff I can't even pronounce. It's like opening up a treasure chest of flavors. And it’s not just the big events; even the everyday things are a bit different. Simple stuff like eating dinner can turn into a whole new experience.

But let's not sugarcoat it; there can be challenges, too. Language barriers can pop up, especially if her family doesn't speak English that well. Sometimes it feels like I'm playing charades trying to communicate with her grandma, but we manage, and it actually becomes kinda fun. Plus, there are times when cultural differences in how we handle things like family or even small stuff, like taking off your shoes when you enter the house, can take some getting used to.

Another thing that caught me off guard was the family expectations. Man, I thought my family was intense about school and career stuff, but it’s a whole new level with her family. It’s like everyone is expected to be a high-achiever, and that kind of extends to me as well since I’m dating her. It's a bit intimidating, but it's also kind of inspiring. Makes me want to step up my game, you know?

Now, I don't want to generalize and say that this is how it’s gonna be for everyone who dates an Asian girl. People are individuals, after all. But these have been some of the ups and downs in my experience. It's been an awesome ride so far, and I've learned a ton. So if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, embrace it, man. You'll learn a lot, eat some amazing food, and if you're like me, you’ll end up growing as a person in ways you didn’t even expect.

as for the culture, yeah... big family, lots of food, judgmental aunties. stuff like that. hasn't effected our relationship at all as we only see his family on holidays.

It is different for different guy. Asian have many countries! And girls are different.

I’ve dated 4 full Asians before: Mien, Chinese, Filipino, and Malaysian.



All of them were very closely tied to their families in terms of culture and tradition.


Family approval was very important.


They were all more reserved than the European and Asian/Caucasian girl I’ve dated.


They were careful and less reckless, perhaps because of their strict Asian parenting.


They were also all plugged into large Asian communities, be it their family, their friend groups, or what have you.


If you get serious, you may need to be acquainted with quite a lot of people.


Family honor is important. Reputation is important. Parental approval is important. Familial obligations and festivities are important to attend.



Western girls have more influence from individualism while Asian girls have more influence from collectivism (culturally speaking).


So, there’s a lot of family pressure to do this or that.


So be prepared to navigate that, especially if you planning to marry them.


Other than that, it’s very case by case. Asian women and women in general can’t be placed in a neat box for generalization.


All you can do is learn about their culture, and notice patterns, trends, and tendencies.


Be ready to adapt!

Oddly enough, I've never been one of those guys who has an Asian fetish, yet I have ended up being in relationships with Asian women before. I guess it's like they say: when you aren't looking for it, you get it. Somehow we just got to know each other and things escalated from there. Not all of those relationships/interactions were good though.

But what was it like? From my experience it is very, very intriguing and educational to date an Asian woman, or even have one as a friend. I prefer the ones born in their own countries as opposed to American born Asians, but they still can be interesting too. Asian women just have a different way about them, even their sexual kinks can be curious. And they definitely do tend to be feminine and like to please a man, whether it's with food or sex or just giving you a gift. I also tend to feel really comfortable around them even as people. Like I just don't feel awkward with them or anything. They are just interesting overall in their own way.

I have had gfs from Japan, South Korea and Vietnam and had good experiences with all of them. We were patient with each other about cultural and linguistic differences. I did make an effort to learn each's language, but admittedly did not get far so most communication was in English. A significant amount of communication is nonverbal and the more you know about their cultures, the better you can deal with that, also things that are understood but not spoken among people in those societies.

It's not possible to avoid missteps altogether when you date a woman from Asia, but try your best. Her family will definitely let her know if something bothers them. Family is very important to them and they generally won't go against their parents' wishes.

My girlfriend is from Iran, Asia, while I'm from Europe. As I found before with friends and partners, the individual always matters more than their nationality andvl origin. She is loyal, highly educated and pretty. It's great to live with her, but I would not say that's specifically because she is from Asia.

For U. S. readers who believe in "race", Iranians are obviously White, not Asian, which means we are even the same in that respect, as Europeans are also White.

You'd better make a lot of money (living in Manhattan is a huge plus). You'd better have family and get their family approval. If you are white, that is also a huge plus.

I don't like Asian women, they are mostly dwarfs since they are less than 1.61 meters tall, I only like Israeli women.
