How do you answer the question ''what do you need in a relationship''? What are your needs in a relationship?
If I were in a relationship, top of my list would be communication. I'd want to be able to chat about everything – from how my day went to deeper stuff like my hopes and fears. No holding back, just real talk.
These are non-negotiables for me. I'd need to feel like I can trust my partner with my heart and my secrets. And honesty, well, that's the backbone of it all. I mean, who wants to be in a relationship where you can't take each other's words at face value?
Respect is another biggie. I'd want to feel like my thoughts and feelings are taken seriously. And of course, I'd give the same in return. Respect for each other’s space and individuality is crucial.
Support and understanding – these are the bread and butter of any relationship. I'd want someone who's got my back, who cheers for me, and understands that sometimes life gets messy and complicated. And I'd be there to do the same for them.
Quality time is key. Not just hanging out, but really connecting. Be it a lazy Sunday brunch or a hike in the mountains, those moments are golden.
And hey, let’s not forget independence. I'd definitely need my own space and time to do my thing, and I'd totally respect their need for the same. It's like that saying, ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder.’

I need communication daily but I need my physical space so I dont need to see them everyday. I need to feel safe and be held some nights. I need to be heard and understood, so emotional support. I occasionally need to be serenaded with like poetry or meaningful song lyrics. I need to be respected and taken seriously. Do not ever call me out of my name. I also need encouragement and motivation not someone who makes me feel less than. I want to give what I ask to receive
I need to feel safe, secure and special, and that requires clear, concise, open, honest communication. I need to feel appreciated as I am, not for the potential I can become. Key red flags for me would be when people assume, blame, criticize, demand, rationalize, yell or tell me what I should or shouldn't do, feel or believe.
