Well... I guess it's for when both parties consider it fine. After a year might be fine, after two years might be better. However, I don't really know how serious this feels, as nobody has ever done this to me. It might be serious enough to be reserved for after marriage.

Well... I guess spiritual and intellectual closeness is more important than physical closeness for me. Thus, little to no physical contact before marriage is fine with me (though I guess we should be at least capable of holding hands and hugging). As for safety, if she does not sue me for any kind of misconduct towards her and will not get violent towards me in the span of three years, I'm going to feel reasonably safe with her. And I hope she will tell me when she feels safe enough with me, as well.

I think this is really dependent on what types of activities you're doing on your dates. Going to a movie might lend to a bit of snuggle time in the seats, if dates are more group oriented, it may be a while, perhaps, until you have the first sleepover.
