I wouldn't change the genre, it was interesting enough on its own. But I also don't think it would make for a good movie since it was long distance, it would work far better as a book where the reader can go along with the imagination you have in a long distance relationship.
What would they classify it as? Here is a short summary of a tale inspired by the relationship. Two people trapped in a tyrannical government lockdown unable to visit each other meet online and discover their partner is a true soul mate beyond belief. They treat each other great, they love each other to the fullest and then one day as she fantasizes about him he feels everything happen as if she is there. Turns out their bond has grown beyond borders and they have gained telepathy. Will they ever overcome the distance and be allowed to live together? How will this newfound power help them in their relationship? What is a relationship like if you can literally feel if the other is loyal and telling the truth? Find out in the book never written.
Drama. My first ex had an extremely toxic personality that only put me through drama. The only reason I tried to make it work so hard was because she was my first.
My second and third ex were great girls and we had good relationships until the end where it also became drama.
assuming "make" as in write it, and since it would have to be an EX/EXs (i would choose one or moren not necessarily the last one) , it would be an action, horror, drama, comedy (and possibly a little X rated thrown in at a couple of spots as not the normal movie love/sex scenes but real and raw) .
Horror! She cheated a few times on me but I forgave her. After the 4th time I finally broke up with her. Every time of cheating again felt like a cut of the pendelum in saw. I was dumb and obviously had the red glasses on...
