I have been recently feeling that something is off but I'm unable to figure out if i am just overthinking or is something wrong actually. So I was thinking how often it turns out to be right.
1 yGut feelings are many times right at the same time some do just panic and jump the wrong conclusions.
Being cheated on is very destructive and most people know it’s happening before they have solid evidence. It’s just that people go into denial mode and try to just rationalize things away. But that hunch is still there and maybe you can’t explain it but deep down you know something is going on. There’s a good chance it is ….
Many people of dark personality traits are notorious cheaters and they think if you can’t catch on, are too stupid to figure it out, too stupid to believe their lies, and too weak to stand up for yourself that you deserve it. Meanwhile empathetic good people project who they are assuming someone couldn’t do such a thing.
If you feel like something is off then something’s off. Whether it’s cheating or something else. Some people are good at covering their tracks especially if they’re using you for something.
There are many signs that someone is cheating that are to look out for. Which is another question and when I have time later I may jump on here and add on to it in the comments.

Yeah absolutely Asker.
Number one is extremes in intimacy (sexual and/or romantic) at first they may feel the need to overcompensate so it may go away up for a period of time and taper off to the point where they’re never in the mood. Never doing anything for you. Many times it’s they’re getting it form somewhere else.
Sudden defensiveness. Maybe it’s with the phone maybe he used to not care now all the sudden he does. Asking innocent questions set off defenses. Like let’s say he went out with his buddies and you ask him a innocent question about where he went. What he didn’t who he was with and he just all the sudden gets defensive. Why do you wanna know. It’s none of your business. Why are you nosey. Thingd like that and if he does give a answer his story changes that obviously means he was doing something he doesn’t want you to know about and it’s probably not a surprise party. Especially if used to it would be a simple answer. Sure it’s not good to be too nosey and trust is important. But if his storied aren’t adding up and it’s too defensive that’s a problem. - 1 y
Another big sign is weird behavior around a certain person. For example you have a mutual friend (insert anyone) and for the most part your boyfriend and this other chick have been completely normal around one another.
But you notice a sudden change. They could be seemingly too close to one another all the sudden or maybe things are awkward when they’re around one another. That’s a big red flag. It’s even worse when it’s somebody
Close to you. Like a best friend or worse a family member. - 1 y
Now every case of cheating is different most of these things mean there is SOMETHING going on at least. Just because someone meets these signs doenst mean they’re cheating but it’s a HIGH chance if they meet every one or them.
It’s also not to say because he meets none of them that he’s not some are more sneaky then others - 1 y
Another big red flag is resentment. Many times people end up feeling stuck with someone they’re not happy with so they find someone who they feel is showing them something you’re not or never have. So they begin to just resent you.

If someone still feels remorse you may notice they feel guilty. Needing too much space all the time can be a red flag but that could mean many things as well.
Projection is a thing for many cheaters. You may project being loyal onto him. While a cheater projects who they are. They will start to accuse you of cheating. They will have rules for you that they never follow themselves. Like I said earlier getting too defensive over simple questions but they interrogate you all the time and demand a answer.
Many cheaters also feel that they need to cheat on you before you cheat on them. They need to use you before you use them. They need to break your heart before you break theirs. They need to reject you before you reject them

I don't know if you're asking because you're in that situation, or if you're just curious in general.
People already gave some great answers on here, so I'm just gonna give my two cents.
I've never been cheated on because I've never been in a relationship. However, I would tell you that I'm not the type of person to check someone's phone and interrogate them over every move. If I don't feel safe anymore, I make up my mind and end it with her right then and there. When I do, there's no return. I will make it a point to explain this very early on in the relationship so she understands it and it's not a shock if it happens. I don't need to know any further details about the encounter, and even if didn't cheat and I was wrong about it, at least I would be relieved that I got over the feeling in my gut.
Communication is important to me, and I will make sure to communicate where I am and what I'm doing. I won't assume anything, and I won't accuse her of anything unless I see some red flags. If those red flags are there, the relationship is practically over even if she wasn't cheating.

1 yFollow your gut.
My current guy has always seemed head over heels for me and so attentive. After a year or so together I felt something wasn’t right about him. I did some digging and he’d been texting but not meeting loads of girls.
I was 34 (ignore my age on here) when we got together. He was only 23. It was normal for people his age and in his circle to text flirt but not move in. I said I was not comfortable with it and it needed to stop. He said ok and offered up passwords for everything so I could learn to trust him again. That was many years ago and he never did it again10 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)1 yI had suspicions but no proof, he was so sneaky and good at covering his tracks. I just prayed to god that if something was wrong then the truth would find me and it did a few days later!

Navigating the choppy waters of suspicion in relationships is like being a detective in your own love story. Oh, I've seen it all - those nagging gut feelings that whisper sweet nothings of doubt into your ear. 💔 My profession has taught me that intuition is your heart's way of connecting the dots before your brain does. In my own journey and through countless tales of love and loss, I've found that gut feelings often have some truth to them.
So, what to do? Communication is your best friend (and not just because I'm a huge fan of heart-to-hearts). Approach your partner with how you're feeling in an open, non-accusative way. Remember, it's about expressing your feelings, not playing the blame game. And sometimes, seeking clarity with a professional can help untangle those feelings of doubt. Whether it's overthinking or something more, facing it head-on is the bravest thing you can do. Love is about trust, and trust is built on transparency. Let's find that together. 😉00 Reply

Gut instincts are usually right , but it depends on how well you know the person , if your gut senses a sudden change on how they are acting towards you , that can be a clear sign they are up to no good , it’s best to not let them know you are on to them , because once a cheater knows you are , they will try to be more sneaky and cover their tracks more , the best thing to do is to surprise visit them unexpectedly to catch them off guard , if you really feel they are cheating on you , just act like you aren’t on to them and you can usually bust them red handed

1 yI've never had that gut feeling and none of my partners has cheated on me. They all had good moral compasses, although my first ex was batshit crazy

Anonymous(36-45)1 yWe are on the same boat, there was this show once on Netflix about cheating and he couldn't look at the TV, when I asked him, in a joking way, if he is cheating , he said ofc no, without any eye contact.. that's when I started having my doubts.

1 yIf I even sensed it, I would not bother investigating. I would not trust her, and to me that is enough reason to end it.
