Me and my husband and I have almost no savings, but in 1 year, we've managed to pay off almost 70% of our debt. Should we be proud or disappointed?

Be proud that's a good goal to work towards it's something you can get the things you need to be happy in life or content and get everything paid off so that way as you start getting older and older things are paid off you just start putting that money in the bank and when it comes time to retire you're good so do without now except for your big items your house your cars and just put that money in the bank

Yes but when your debt is paid off put that same money toward savings. And make sure you're earning some money on it, at least 4% or 5% in a CD or money market account. Most regular savings accounts are only ½% interest. As your savings grows start talking to a fiduciary about places you can earn even higher. Make sure it's a fiduciary and not just a financial advisor.

Paying off that much of your debt in one year is a fantastic achievement. You should be proud of yourselves. When you have no more debt, take the money you were using to pay your debt and put it in a savings account. You'll build up savings in no time

Having money in the bank is nice, but being debt free is even better. Debt keeps taking your money and your happiness, nobody wants that. Be proud and keep paying so you can save for your dreams. Or at least pay until your debt is manageable or you feel it’s less of a burden and then focus on saving money and debt management.

Credit cards? If so 100% that's where you start.. Property mortgage? or tax deductible debt? So that's the question

Sure. Pay off whatever you can. You can start saving once that's taken care of.

If you did it the other way round, part of your savings would have to go towards intrest on your loan.
