Has there ever been a movie quote that changed the way you think?

There is an old movie called “Thief” with James Caan. In that movie Caan is a diamond thief who falls in love with a girl who works at a dinner. Caan goes to the prison to talk with a good friend (played by Willy Nelson) and asks him a question. Should Caan tell this girl the truth about him being a diamond thief or should he lie to her.

Willy’s response was something I took to heart and believe to this day.

He said: “lie to no one. If there’s somebody close to you, you’ll ruin it with a lie. If they are a stranger then who the fuck are they you gotta lie to”
