What's the worst addiction to have besides drugs and alcohol?

I think addiction to a person. It gives you the same highs and lows that being on drugs does. And you may do crazy things to keep that high going such as stalking, catfishing, pleasing them in unhealthy ways to keep them around, etc.

Gambling is one of them , I like gambling but I know when to stop and I play for fun. unfortunately some people do not Know when to stop , some of my exes didn’t know when to stop , and they put themselves in a hole and then come crying to me to help them out. I would just shake my head on how dumb they were. My one ex won a thousand dollars at the casino and she came running to me to show me , while I was sitting at a black jack table where I was winning as well, my pocket was full of winnings , she showed me her voucher and said look baby. I was so excited for her , I said ok don’t play anymore , I am only playing 4 more hands and then let’s go celebrate because I won a thousand or
More as well. She said she wants to play another machine that she has a good feeling it’s going to hit , so she said she will only play 40 dollars worth as well , I said ok , I will see you in a little. By the time I was done playing , which was only like 15
Minutes , I went to go look for her , when I found her at the machine , that 1000 dollars was down to 100 dollars , I said please tell me you didn’t lose all that money and she said she did. I shook my head and said you are insane , why in the hell would you do that? I said cash out and let’s Go , I was so upset at her for not walking away after the 40 bucks. So I said cash out the 100 dollars and let’s go , of course we were arguing , she kept saying she wants to win that money back , she said let’s just play this 100 and then we will go. I said fine let’s go play it together on another machine. So her and I walked over to this other slot machine and the 2nd spin we hit 850 bucks, such luck , and then we immediately cashed out and said let’s Go. We had a great rest of the night , I ended up winning 1200 and she had close to a thousand , that was on a Sunday , on Monday I went to work and she ended up going back to the casino and lost all the money she just won. I was so upset with her and told her she is an idiot. I didn’t dump her because of her gambling addiction but that was part of the reason , because she let it take over her and it was pathetic lol

They're all pretty bad but gambling is just so weird because most of these people know rationally that they're getting screwed but they still do it. This is one of the things that makes me glad that the rational side in my brain is stronger because I've never been tempted at all. I have played a little bit of poker for fun but I never had that delusion that I'll win the next one. It's crazy to me how this has just become a mainstream thing now. Like as a society everybody knows if you promote gambling there will be some percentage of people who's lives get destroyed. And these businesses they produce nothing of value. It doesn't benefit people in any way. It should be extremely restricted in my opinion but no they've found a way to put it everywhere. In Switzerland it's still quite restricted and I'm glad about that but when it's everywhere online people can still get addicted. I hope at some point in the future there will be an effort to restrict the use of these scarcity loops not just in gambling also video games etc. This person who's destroying their life they might be a great person if they didn't get exposed to this. So we all lose because some parasitic companies have wormed their way into so much of society.

Eating. I had a grandmother that would eat all day. She ended up getting so many health problems because of it but couldn't stop! As a family, we always wondered where they got the money to support her habit, they did live comfortably but I'm guessing they spent hundreds weekly to support her eating addiction, mainly because she would order food vs cooking it. The complications from her obesity did eventually kill her.

Yikes, all addiction can get deadly. But I definitely feel what you mean when you say "addiction to a person." It usually stems from major childhood trauma... which is hard to heal without therapy.

I said to a person because I think that I was addicted to this one guy back in 1990 and I worked with him.
After a very long time I came to the conclusion that he reminded me of my Dad who was just a Disneyland dad. He took us to Disneyland and few times.

I think "porn addictions" are utterly crazy. I can't understand how anyone could ever be addicted to that stuff, the vast majority of it is not realistic, not filmed well whether it's amateur or professional, very gross, and overall just annoying. To pay for it is even worse.

The question is making a false claim. No addiction on the planet is worse than drugs, specifically in my opinion opiate addiction. Drug addiction can drive people to suicide. None of the things you listed are even actually addictions. An addiction is not a habit, or a strong desire to do something. It’s where your body and brain develops a dependency, and legitimately cannot function without having it. That is what addiction is.
