What does it mean when a guy calls you "kid"?

Is this like equivalent of "baby"? and um...what does this mean?

If he was being flirty and he called you a kid when he was being flirty u already answered urself.
It's a term of endearment towards someone we feel protective of and love. The only other meaning will be when u did something immature. But then there is immaturity and stupidity; stupidity and burning ur hands (ie. cuteness and impracticality resp.). U just need to be self aware and know what's what

When I play Xbox live I call people who are bad 'kid' i.e. 'Get out of here with that sh*t, kid', maybe he thinks you're bad at something.

It probably doesn't mean anything. A lot of my guy friends use "kid" when talking to me or other girls who are really good friends that they are comfortable around. It's a term that they can use without being sexual. Some guys use it sexually, but most of the time it's a playful term for their close girl friends.

My favorite movie is Casablanca, so when I started calling girls 'kid', I guess I was trying to come off as cool as Humphrey Bogart in some Romantic plane strip...

Now it just slips out whenever it wants to. Especially for goodbyes, even to guys. Women seem less offended by it than "babe", "luv", or "funbags". Okay... the last one was a joke lol.. seriously though, if its someone your close to, I wouldn't read much into it.
