Do women really prefer a shaved chest to one that's trimmed or slightly hairy?

I'm curious because my hair is slightly thick but it's not that bad. If I trim it it looks alright too, but shaving has always been way too much personal maintenance for me. It requires shaving every day or so because my hair grows back in so fast and it's dark and I'm light complected. And then there's the whole lotion aspect to avoid ingrown hairs.

Is it really that big of a deal? What about leg, arm, and arm pit hair? I was a competitive swimmer throughout high school so I'm no stranger to the blade or a completely shaved body. I've always shaved my lower back so that's not really an issue for me.

Shaving isn't worth it; the ingrown hairs and chest stubble are no good: definitely not attractive, not to mention uncomfortable for you! Plus it makes men look like boys, to be honest. You get the Abercrombie and Fitch model look, and while I won't say those guys are totally unattractive, I'd prefer at least a little fuzz. Better to just trim and keep things under control rather than trying to eliminate the chest hair altogether. On the other hand, the extremely furry look isn't really a good one for anybody either, so a middle ground is ideal.

I think shaved legs, arms, and armpits just look strange on a man, to be honest. If they're a swimmer or something, like you were, that's one thing, because there's a specific reason why they did it, but otherwise it's odd. Good that you shave your back, though. Definitely keep doing that.

Totally subjective topic. Some ladies like fur, others don't. Personally if you keep it clean and neatly trimmed, then I've got no hang-ups. Unless you're chewbacca. Then you need help.

Honestly though, if you can bare it, spend the $20 and get a professional wax once a month if you want the clean look. Shaving is not only a daily pain in the ass, but it also causes some nasty sharp stubble. We wince in pain when you rub your less than freshly shaven face against our cheeks. Imagine that across your lady's whole body. Instant mood killer.

Hey There ,

To be honest I used to hate hairy chest and then I met my boyfriend ( been with him 6 years) and I started liking it after a few months , so I guess everyone has preferences but chest hair is not a reason a women should reject you and if she doesn't , then do you really want that , now its chest hair later its what if you start going bald she will leave you , you don't need this type of Relationship. Just Take a shower everyday and stay clean and smell good and trust me the hair won't cause you any problems.!!!

Dude don't shave use nair for men it works great and last a lot longer than shaving. Problem solved leave the leg and pit hair though unless you are into bodybuilding in which case less hair makes you look bigger and more defined which girls love as well.

I love it when my woman is pleased with how I look, so I keep my chest & pits trimmed neatly.  She loves to run her hands over my chest all the time & the hair is really soft, so it's fuzzy for her.  She always tells me how sexy it is, so it's all good!

I think if you don't shave it's just disgusting. Plain and simple. Waxing would be the best idea, I don't mind much if guys have leg hair, pubes need SHAVED. definitely, and backs and chests should be waxed. I think armpit hair is so unattractive, honestly.. I think it is disgusting. Maybe just trim it if you can see it AT ALL with a normal shirt on..

I believe this is more of a personal opinion. Some women love hairy chest, others not so much. I personally do not like a lot of hair.

I prefer a smooth chest with no hair or light hair. Legs, not too hairy but hair is good on the legs, having shaved legs just doesn't appeal to me. I would question a guy with absolutely no hair on the legs, again this is just my personal opinion. Armpits, no hair or light is fine. Same as the arms.

I guess what I am trying to say is I am not found of a guy who reminds me of Wolverine but keeping the macsuline appearance is still a plus!

Also when it comes to the pubic region make sure that's cleaned up trimmed. Chest hair is is not a deal breaker unless it is really excessive, so do whatever makes you comfortable. However, random little strays or fuzzy patches on a guy's upper back/shoulders are vile though and MUST go. Legs, arms, etc can stay natural unless you really look like an animal. In which case please remove or trim. I'm not into bestiality, lol.

I'm not exactly a fan of a hairy chest, but a lot of women like it because its "manly". However I would much prefer it over a shaved body. I've never had a boyfriend/hook-up/etc shave their body but it doesn't appeal to me. It seems that it would be uncomfortable for the girl, not to mention it seems like a lot of work for you. Hairy backs need to be waxed hands down, but other than that you're A-ok.

Hairy chests are so gross, seriously,  the sight of one makes me a bit queasy. Wax it. It'll last way longer than shaving. Sure, it's gonna hurt but it's worth it. Leg and arm hair are alright. Don't really care about that. Of course shaved legs are a plus but whatever, it's not a big deal. Arm pit hair is foul, plus it makes guys smell, shave it.

Well obviously many girls have different opinions. honestly a little hair on the chest doesn't hurt. some women might think your weird if you shave your legs so just maybe let the hairs grow out a bit, also on the armpit. men are supposed to have hair everywhere and not shave. like I said these are just opinions. It's completely fine to have hair!!! Personally, I think it's really attractive when guys are hairy all over. Just make sure it doesn't become too excessive or you'll look like Chewbacca.....

If it looks like your wearing a rug, I suggest a trim but otherwise, keep it as it is. a little hair on a man is masculine whilst a peachy hairless body looks too feminine borderline big baby style if you get my drift.

I agree with strawberrieblondie on this one. I definitely prefer a guy with a hairy chest to a guy with peach fuzz (no offense to anyone). If you only had fuzz then I would say wax it, otherwise just keep it tidy ;-)

Don't do anything you your chest, or any other body hairs, except for maybe trimming your pubes but only if you want to.  I prefer guys to be completely natural, even if they're gorillas.

I suppose it is really a matter of personal opinion- but I find that most girls (myself included) don't mind a bit of chest hair. Its so manly. Too much (like austin powers) is pretty disgusting but I'm sure yours does not compare haha. Don't shave. It time consuming and honestly I think its a little feminine. When I go to the pool or beach I never examine a guys chest hair.  Arm hair is hard to avoid but theirs nothing really wrong with it.  I would prefer it without but I don't care.

Personally, I prefer a completely natural look - if a man shaved I'd think he was vain - I'd prefer a naturally hairy man.  Do what you feel comfortable with and the right girl won't care about your body hair -it's how you treat her that's important.
