Why do girls hate fishing

I love it I'm willing to do everything but I can not get my girl to want to be on the water with me. It's a big part of my life and I want to share it with her. How can I knock this barrier down.

Ok, no offense meant to your hobby, but I find it boring- period. I'm an outdoorsy girl, I'll go hiking, canoeing, skiing, camping, four-wheeling or even mudding any day of the week, but I really just don't find fishing entertaining at all. I've been several times, and while I love the water, find it relaxing to spend a day near the lake or even on it, I get bored trolling for fish all day. Also, I find the smell of gas and the sound of the motor kind of shatter the atmosphere of the lake for me.

That being said, if I was dating a guy who loved to fish, I'd be willing to compromise. I'd be willing to spend an afternoon on the lake with him, provided he was cool with me just sitting, enjoying the scenery and reading a book. That way, I'm spending time with him while he fishes, but I'm not bored out of my mind and hating the experience.

But you might want to find out exactly what your girl doesn't like fishing. Does she think it's gross? Does she hate the idea of hooking a fish? Is she afraid of the water? Or is she like me and just finds it boring? (Again, no offense meant to your hobby, mine is reading and tons of people find that utterly dull).

She just doesn't like it, that has nothing to do with how she might feel about you. I mean would you want to be forced to spend loads of time at a make-up or perfume counter? Different people enjoy different things, so why not think on some new activity you BOTH can love together?

All I'm suggesting is that maybe you see your fishing as ''me'' time and find some other way to have couple time? What do you think?

I mean if the 2 of you get along well in all other areas, no need to make a problem out of something small.

Although she may not be fund of it. She has to be open to experiencing it. In a relationship sometimes we have to compromise, and do things our partners like because it makes them happy

Try having a talk with her. You don't want her to do this all of the time, but once in a while we be okay.

Same for you. I am sure you'd be down to experiencing one of her hobbies even if it were not your thing.

That's how a happy well balanced relationship works.

I've been fishing with a number of girls. Some like it, others don't. Not everyone is going to like the same thing. So long as your providing interesting conversation while you fish and don't do it all day long, then a lot of girls would be willing to do it from time to time.

personally I find fishing cruel and boring

she might find it boring or might be scared of falling in the water, you can't force her to like something even if you are kind and selfless enough to do things you don't like for her (unfair imo). maybe take some other stuff for her to do on the boat so that she won't feel so bored? or take it as a me time opportunity

This is a bit stereo typical. Just going to say that not all girls hate fishing. IT's sort of a personal preference thing; I know a bunch of guys that don't like watching football and tons of girls that love watching it. Since it is personal preference I don't think it'd be possible to make her like it but you could always try making it fun for her or maybe incorporating something she likes into it.

Actually, I've noticed quite a few of them (the young ones at least) don't like fishing, but do enjoy ripping the heads off.

I don't like fishing because it's brutal. You jam a hook through the fish's head and cause it horrible pain. I don't kill for fun.
