Signs that a guy friend is jealous?

Me and this dude let's call him Peter are very close friends. There's this another close guy friend that I have that likes me and they're a lot of rumors about us going out because we used to hang out a lot but now don't. Whenever Peter is around and that guy friend of mine comes to talk to me peter somehow manages to drive him away like when greeting him peter will shake his hand as hard as he can and be like "come on dude is that all you got?" And my other guy friend will leave after a few seconds then. Whenever I call my other guy friend to come here Peter goes like "he's busy I don't think he'll come" and when I mention my guy friend peter seems to ask like 4 or 5 questions about him. The thing is Peter cannot like me because he knows peter and I are just very close friends and also he's got a thing going on with another girl. Peters a type of a player and he doesn't really have feelings for anyone.

So is peter jealous? Or just being overprotective? Also what are some signs that a guy friend of yours is jealous

"Peter" sound a lot like my guy friend...I think maybe he has underlying feelings for you but won't admit it to you and maybe not even himself either. He could also be overprotective too...but being protective of you could also be because of liking you. He probably feels like he just doesn't want anyone to have you, even if he doesn't either at the moment (because of the whole being a player thing)

he probably likes you, or feels like he needs to protect you which still points to him liking you. or hidden option 3 he sees you as a sister and he still thinks he should protect you, though this isn't as likely.

All depends on how you two acted with each other flirting with each other or is it just friends maybe he knows that you know the way he is and he knows that you don’t want him so he don’t like other coming on to you?
Because he can’t have you…
Or he just might not like the other guy…
