Questions: Relationships

There are questions posted about open relationships, polyamory, swinging, and other non-traditional types of relationships, and questions which bash marriage as a failed institution, but not as many questions about the virtues and desirability of traditional marriage or a long-term committed and exclusive relationship. I think this is caused by people in non-traditional relationships needing to seek validation for their choices while people in traditional relationships don't have that same need. The result is that some users seem to perceive that traditional marriage and long term monogamy have lost their popularity because they don't often hear it being discussed in positive terms.

SO. . . you tell me. The question is not whether you want to get married or find a long term relationship immediately. If you are 17 or 18 years old, I wouldn't recommend that; date for a while and become familiar with the range of people available for relationships, but. . . eventually, do you want to be in a relationship that leads to a long term monogamous commitment or marriage?

For so many years, I sought a woman without a romantic past. I met my very first girlfriend on New Years Day this year and we are each other's first serious relationship. I am her first kiss and everything. She is 26; I am 29.

Everyone told me I wasn't going to find a woman like this, but I did. I feel God has blessed me, and I am incredibly grateful.

by the way, ignore the username. I created this account before I found my first girlfriend. I thought initially I was going to be single for life.
