If you're on your deathbed, what would your final words be to your loved ones?

King Bradley on his deathbed in Full Metal Alchemist was on point: "My wife understands. She is the woman that I chose to live by my side. There are no more words that can pass between us now."
"The gold! It's in the..."

On my deathbed, I likely would be incapable of speaking due to the process of death.
The blood redirects to the vital organs, the spittle pools and creates the "death rattle" sound, depending on the amount of fluids that the dying person took in. The process of death has been described as the body closing the doors to the various "rooms" (body functions). The ability to say anything meaningful would be basically nonexistent at that point, due to the effort required and the demand on the brain. When someone dies, they have what I think of as the "deepness", or true unconsciousness, versus just being asleep. They become harder and harder to fully wake.
However, there can be a small window of time where the person dying seems to be getting better. In that brief time, they might be able to say something.
That's why I would urge people to record what they want to say, write letters or a journal of thoughts they want passed down. Don't wait until the death bed, if you are fortunate enough to have one. Prepare for death like you'd prepare for retirement, or your career, or a relationship. Death is another part of life that can be prepared for.
As for what I would say, that's private. :D
Alright way to suck the...(don't wanna say fun 😅) implied hypothetical scenario out of it... Ms. Literal.
Let me rephrase for your scientific logic 😂
"If you know you're going to die soon, what you would want to tell your loved ones?"
There ya happy? 😂
And don't worry I know you're not answering. Keep it private 😂
@HawkPerception I'm finally happy, thank you! Been waiting all day. :D
Sorry... didn't mean to be a Rhonda Raincloud. I just know the movies don't exactly show death accurately a lot of the time, LOL.
Also, I think many people are afraid of death, and they don't need to be. Even death is a manageable thing, if we can set aside our fears and think about it objectively. That's why the scientific expose... it's a conversation people need to be having.
I agree with you. I'm not even sure I believe in an afterlife (although I lean more towards something related to the soul, like reincarnation that we have little understanding of), but I have told my family how I want to be cremated if I do die and I want the family to celebrate... not a typical grieving funeral.
@HawkPerception I hear you. I try not to think about reincarnation, to be honest. If I knew or felt that it was a thing, it would be hard to not try and find the one I lost, you know? Like searching the world over for that person. That would make for an interesting plotline in a film, actually. Two people continuously missing one another in the various "lives", and only getting to be together once in all eternity...
I think the celebration of life idea is neat. It takes a position of gratitude for the life lived. Kudos to you for addressing that head-on, not everyone is willing to, which just makes everything harder for families.
@TheRealPepperPotts You should look at the movie "I Origins". It's based on that exact plot. The movie was a bit slow, but I loved the concept.
@TheRealPepperPotts but on how many parties was he invited to throughout his life? How many friends did he have?
To my kids. I would say be proud of yourselfs. because you have made me very proud . You know what I believe in I believe in you and I believe we will see each other again.
You guys have any cookies I'm hungry
My last words might be "Enjoy life."
Of course first I would tell them how much I love them and how blessed I am to have had the pleasure of having them in my life.
And If I have a few more breaths to breathe, I will tell them if I'm on life support to make sure I don't have any brain activity before they pull the plug on me. And tell them you want proof of it. Don't just take their word for it. People lie, and especially in the medical profession.
Go on without me, but know in your heart I will always be there.
"I have $100,000 stashed in the house."
Then not tell them where it's at.
Got to keep them on their toes
Lolololololol
My last words would be, "I have thirty million dollars hidden in an offshore account. You can access it through..." and then I would die.
It's not true, but it would be a fun little prank.
"Hope we all meet again on the other side."
I love you and forgive you for anything that you have done and ask for your forgiveness as well
If there is an afterlife.. let's meet again 😌..
"I love you." if I could communicate.
"Why'd you stab me?"
"I told you so."
"To the strongest"
Alexander of Macedon when asked on his deathbed which of his generals should inherit his empire...

I would tell them that I am okay with dying.
Please pray that God forgives my sins and shortcomings and protects me from the punishment of grave and hellfire.
