Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It is a holy month in the religion of Islam and is marked by a time of required fasting. It is believed that Ramadan burns away a person’s sins with good deeds.
2. "Why is it that you fast?"
Because muslims believe that it brings them closer to God and also it reminds them of the suffering of those less fortunate. Muslims often donate to charities during the month and feed the hungry.
Most say that they understand the value of the food. They say the water taste a lot better in iftar as they were so thirsty.
