My First Time at a Mosque!

First impression? Its like a library, only there's lots of copies of the same book and no shelves in the middle just an open room.

My dad made me leave my phone in the truck so I couldnt take a pic of the inside but this is pretty much what it looked like.

We went in and on the wall there's a bunch of cubbies to put you're shoes in, then you're supposed to just pick a spot anywhere on the floor and pray or read the Koran. Some people were on their knees on laying forward quietly mumbling some stuff and some were reading

I don't know anything about praying, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that anyway, but I did like everyone else was doing and just sat down, closed my eyes, and started thinking and daydreaming about stuff. Its pretty relaxing to just be quiet for while.

We stayed for about thirty minutes and then ate arbys on the way home. All in all I thought it was a cool experience😊 not like I'm going to wear hijabs and give up bacon or anything, but yeah I see why people go to mosques.

Something ominous can be felt in those places. Did a video for a cable commission and shot footage inside one once. There was this presence of evil everywhere. Not from the worshipers, per se, but in the air.

To be honest, I felt safer in the Jain temple. And that place was just odd. The Anglican Church on that tour closed early that Sunday, so I was unable to get in to shoot. That, and I was running late due to road construction delays.

Yet, the mosque was hardly the worst place on the tour. Nowhere was I treated more rudely, than by the Jewish synagogue on the tour. That lady on the phone was downright nasty.

I have tried Islam myself. (that I quit has reasons but does not belong here). Basically, it could be similar in Christian churches, but it is much less common. The peaceful, mindful and conscious atmosphere in a mosque is indeed something that any other religion could benefit from if they adopt this attitude. In Buddhist temples it is somewhat similar.

I've only been to one once in Singapore. It was realyl interesting. I'm an Atheist, but I love religious buildings like temples, churches, mosques, and synagogues.

I find mosques to be unusually quiet. I'm not used to it. But it's peaceful.

One time due to a power failure in my locality the lights were out for hours. I had an exam the following day and the mosque had electricity due to the generator. I went to the mosque, studied for hours and hours. No one to interrupt. Pin drop silence. It was nice

Yeah, we were together. The place was basically one room that was the whole building. Me and my dad were 2 of about 10 people there. There was a woman in hijab with her kid, a few guys with white clothes, and a couple people dressed normal.
