Why are Christians /religious people so boring?

They rarely party unless it's a birthday party, they claim to be happier than any other religious group but you can clearly tell by the look on their faces that some need help, some don't eat meat, others dont drink , some think that their God wants them to kill and they kill. some gods are jealous, some have 5 other gods but they seem like the same old person. I'm an atheist in a Christian family and I can definitely say that I feel free without all that rope holding me down from enjoying my life.

I'm a Christian and I'm happy. I don't party and drink alcohol and stuff like that and I'm perfectly content. I believe that people who prioritize worldly materials or activities like drinking and don't maintain a relationship with God are the most depressed people in the world. These people will always feel like something is missing in their lives. You may be enjoying yourself now but maybe sometime in the near future when you get bored of all these partirs you are going to question yourself with the question. "Am I really happy?"

To answer your question. We christians are not boring. Some atheists are boring too. In general people can be boring if they want to be just let people live their lives.

Why do people make so many generalizations about massive groups of people? The small group you may have met doesn't represent the other millions.

I'm Christian, I don't enjoy drinking or partying; those are things that are actually boring to me. Everybody enjoys different things in life.

They change their priorities and lifestyle to enjoy doing more religion/church oriented things. That becomes their fun, because their focus has changed towards living out the word of their god. To a non-religious person, that lifestyle looks boring because we don't really "get" it, but someone who truly wants to live the christian lifestyle isn't going to find daily devotionals and waking up early for church to be boring. Do you see what I'm saying?

Yes, what's more fun than drinking yourself into oblivion, throwing up in a stranger's home, either making a fool of yourself while drunk or even doing something illegal, then feeling like shit the day after.

I don't know what Christians you've been around, but all my fellow Christians are the happiest people I know. And true misery I have only seen in the eyes of atheists.

They are 2 billion professing Christians, some dedicated to God others in name only; so you using a small number of your family to gain a accurate landscape of Christianity or religious people is ridiculous.

Plenty of Christians enjoy their lives, by hanging out with friends, fishing, bowling, movie theater, sex with their spouse, some drink (not drunk) etc.

Everyone has their own definition of what brings them pleasures in life.

It's just the path that those certain people tread. The same could be said about an atheist, a Buddhist (particularly a monk), a Hinduist, etc whatever. It's all based on who they are, what they choose to do and what they believe.

Depends on the level of Christian they are. There are the more lax ones and then there are the bible thumpers
