Why do people have such boring personalities nowadays?

People are so boring, no personality. Just nothing.

People add me on Snapchat, and when I try to get to know them and ask questions, tell them about myself and so on they just have the most dead, boring personality I've ever seen. Like there's no soul in them. No interest, no emotion, they don't ask questions, tell about themselves, no passions, dry etc. I'm TIRED of not being able to make friends because everyone's personality is ASS.

I think you know what type of people I'm talking about, you know these people who just respond with one word and such. Most boring people ever.

The last time I had a friend was when I was 9 years old. 9. I'm 15 now, and people my age have no personality.

What's wrong with people? Why are they so dead on the inside?

I'd guess that you're looking in the wrong place. Pretty everyone has some degree of internet presence, but those who live on the internet tend to not do much else. I mean, I've spent quite a bit of time on this site over the last two years and change, but that's mostly because of (initially) social isolation due to lockdowns, and then (later on) practical isolation due to job loss and consequently being broke. A lot of other people find themselves in an online community under similar circumstances, and get stuck doing little else as FOMO sets in.

The kind of people who decide to learn the theremin, or take up falconry, or watch every Star Trek episode ever to see how it's changed over the decades, aren't the kind of people who post about it on social media, since they're out DOING it. Go to the places where people actually DO stuff, and you'll find no end of good conversation.

You're 15, I imagine (or at least I'm hoping) the people you meet on snapchat are also around your age. There's a stage of life in your early to mid-teens where you're still trying to figure yourself out and I'm sure you're going through this as well. When you don't know who you are, or what you like, with the ease of access we have with tech and snapchat I'm sure that blankness turns into them being bored and being rather dry responders. It's not that they're dead inside, you just find them during times when they're bored and unsure of what to do as you give them attention.

Yes, all the teenagers still use it. I'm on there like twice a week to check if anyone's messaged me. But usually there's nothing.
People around my age are so boring, I swear there's something wrong with my generation. I don't know if it's because of all the access to internet that makes people robots.
