Why are smart people so boring?

Such as engineers etc. Balding, glasses, fat belly, no humor and always talking about boring things.

Generally people that get bored, don't even know what they like to do or what they find interesting. They have trouble occupying their time because they have no depth. They are so bland and of such low intelligence, that they rely on others to entertain them. They lack passions and interests and are incapable of asserting their own interests in a conversation and leading a group of people with their own ideas. So I'll put it to you plain. What do you find interesting?

I am a senior software engineer already. But all my fucking engineer friends are boring as hell.

So you're interesting in programming... Honest most people outside of devs aren't going be too interested in that. Find some friends that want to develop a video game or something like that, and then challenge each other to make odd little games for shits and giggles. Maybe go to a game jam and take on one of those challenge. Writing software is generally a pretty lonely endeavor. Some people are enthusiastic about talking about it, but not too many.

I have an older brother that works in software for the shipping industry and he can't stand talking about science or technology for more a couple minutes. Nothing too in depth with him... He likes to go bar hopping, play darts and billiards, go fishing, etc. Then my little brother is also involved in software currently in the financial industry basically writing trading algorithms and shit like that, but he's polar opposite but and he'll talk your head off for two hours about the latest piece of code he's working on, new languages he's interested in and why he now thinks they are the best, or mathematical algorithms he's implementing at a very high level that not too many people would understand and 99.99% of people wouldn't even be willing to listen to. It can go either way...

I’ve met a lot of intelligent people with a great sense of humor.

I suppose “smart” people seem boring because their minds are always buzzing with information, curiosity, and thought of information. The average person doesn’t like hearing in depth information everyday—it starts to feel like a boring lecture at school, work, or can be like being blasted with a fire hose of information in an overwhelmingly amount.

But for those who enjoy the aspects of learning in depth information, exchanging information, and processing information, they won’t find it as bothersome or boring—in fact, they find it stimulating and exciting.

Many smart people often strive to learn something new. The thought of learning something new is like the rush of dopamine or feel good feelings a person feels in their brain. Therefore, the reason smart people seem boring is because the things that stimulate them are often different from what average people are stimulated by.
