Is the Lord’s Prayer a structure of how to pray or should we literally recite it?

When I pray I pray using the Lord’s Prayer as a structure for what I’m saying instead of reciting it word for word.

It's a structure. but if you said the prayer word for word, actually meaning it and thinking about what you were saying. It would be alright.

Actually , we're learning about this in church the last couple weeks...
It's amazing how little of that prayer is petition (asking for things). "Give us this day our daily bread" is the only request for material things in the whole prayer.
It's also about God's will rather than ours. (Thy will be done)

Right, I hate how people think prayer is just to ask for things.

I see it like this: Jesus had been asked - and he made a suggestion of how it would be really ok.
To mindlessly repeat it over and over was certainly not his idea.
Moreover: translated into other languages it simply CAN'T be a one-version-only.

Recite it but also have your own personal prayers too. Prayer is a powerful too that we use build our relationship with the Father. Any issue you have in life you got to pray on it, its a very deep connection but it has to be genuine xx

It is suppose to be a structure of a prayer; but if you lost for words it is still good as is.

Literally reciting is better because Jesus Christ probably chose these words for a reason. Then again, if you recite it literally, you basically said everything most important within less than a minute.
