Why did God create men with foreskin if he wanted it cut off soon after?
Life is so much easier to understand if you stop imagining that things are a result of some Godly desire. Our anatomy, every animals anatomy, is the result of millions of years of random mutations and natural selection. That’s why animals including us have vestigial parts. Horses and dogs have vestigial digits, not for any purpose, but because that’s how evolution works. The tiny bones of our ears are repurposed jaw bones.
The body is created perfectly as it is.
In some situations the skin gets tight and can cause problems, it's my belief that under those circumstances it needs to be cut back.
I think the times when it was written for it to be a tradition. Perhaps infections and diseases prevailed. Education wasn't as it is now, including the invention of soap.
So it was perhaps a safety mechanism.
Prevention better than cure.
It's not a practise that is conducted here in the uk unless medically required.
😊 We are perfect
@lilyanony1 I think @slatyb was being sarcastic, the appendix is useless, air intersecting with food is dangerous, and our teeth are replaced during childhood.
And that still makes us perfect.
I don't know why you have two disagrees. You're absolutely right. I should have known you probably aren't American. American, Muslim and Jewish girls treat it like it's some sort of genetic defect.
"It looks like a condom."
"I never know what to do with it"
I'm so sick of that shit.
@KostasKouvalis I suppose that's the beauty of differing opinions. I just feel sorry for their children. Being mutilated because of the excuses you mentioned above. It's unnecessary.
Exactly. What gives them the right to decide what to do with OUR bodies?
It's slowly starting to change.
People won't do that anymore especially as so many don't follow a religion.
I hope so. I was surprised that in the Middle East and Africa even Christians do it.
Thanks for mho x
You might not like my opinion on this one— but I’m against genital mutilation in general.(Both male and female)
I wouldn’t circumcise my son, if I ever have one in the future. It’s completely unnecessary and has no health benefits whatsoever.
Thank you kindly for the MHO! Much appreciated :)
Well that's because he didn't and he don't exist and didn't create us in anyway perfect and there is likelihood Forskin removal became a thing to clean ourselves more easily with the amount of infections and dirt that would of easier happened down there.
And also possibly, that jews had a higher rates of Phimosis. Aka getting there forskin stuck.
But that's just my thoughts. Forskin is kinda useless anyway so why would a god create us with it in the first place? lmao.
Religion really thinks god created our bodies it's funny.
okay okay first of all during ww2 those men who dropped their drawers and were cut were jews and killed that's good. so after ww2 the Jews said yes you stupid Christians its good for your health. a lie to say that if there was ever hitler 2.0 he would have a hard time telling because most parents were stupid. Honestly god if there was one is not stupid and he made it for a god damn reason. You think that stupid jew cutting your kids dick off knows more than you? Humans know everything? fuck no! Might as well lvl 3 cut little girls cunts out since those African Muslims apes say its okay!
Dude, don’t look for logic in religious doctrines. You are just going to give yourself a headache.
Because God wasn't sure whether he wanted a Jewish son or a non-jewish son where Europeans son since they get to keep theirs forever and Jewish ones they lose theirs I think will around 12:00 and the other ones like myself we've lost theirs before we even knew we had them like right after we came out of our mom's first cord, then the skin, snippety snip just like that
So he could ask that you mutilate yourself to show loyalty, in a time without disinfectant or anesthesia
That's a good point, how tf was circumcision done back then? With men shrieking all the way through the procedure?
In the first place, "he" didn't. There's no such thing as god. Secondly, the foreskin is nothing more than the labia we WOULD'VE had if we were born female. The biggest reason it's cut off is, cleanliness. It's also possible that it's cut off to reduce the sexual sensitivity.
For those that didn't bother to read Genesis, explain how 2 people populated the entire world when all they had together were 3 boys. Explain how two of those boys found girlfriends when Eve was the only woman on the planet. 4 men and one woman on THE ENTIRE PLANET and TWO of them managed to find dates!! In the meantime, there's a few BILLION people on the planet and the ratio is now 3 girls for every boy and I can't even find ONE girl!! Even Adam & Eve had a couple girls, too, even WITH incest, there wouldn't be enough genetic material to populate the entire planet! Just because someone wrote that there were 3 men in a tub and some old woman lived inn a shoe doesn't mean it actually happened!
Practical reasons of hygiene in desert environment;
God has a strange sense of humour. He "proved" it on 26 Dec 2021, when he asked Archbishop Desmond Tutu (South African anti-Apartheid) to join him permanently on his side of the world.
i guess it would be because it shows your parents or your own loyalty to him if theyre willing to mutilate you in his name
or you're willing to do it yourself later in life
90% of what is claimed god does or said is not true, that is people corrupting the word of the lord to fit their agenda
To your update, the bible is the biggest corruption of his words.
Part of the bible is real, but most is man making it fit the agenda.
Can't take something written by man to heart must read it find the stuff that makes sense.
Because he didn't. People did bathe back then, so their foreskin kept getting infected. They interpreted this as God not wanting them to have foreskin, so they cut it off. There is no god, there's just disease and infection. Wash your dick.
He didn't. It was part of a test that Abraham botched- just like he was prepared to sacrifice Isaac. What set Yahweh apart from other local gods wasn't just omnipresence, but a desire to have followers who weren't unthinking slaves.
To show their devotion to him and distinguish themselves from others as his first peoples (chosen).
Side note: Aesthetically, it's a thing too.
It wasn't soon after. Our ancestors have been around for eons. The foreskin protected us from damage. When Judaism emerged, we wore clothes to protect us. Circumcision is a symbol of submission to G0d.
He didn't. It's just a stupid religious tradition that's completely unnecessary in the 21st century
Because he didn't order for circumcision. God doesn't care about that. That's the problem with religion. They add on a bunch of random shit and ruin it.
He didn't want it to be cut off, people chose to do that.
Good question, I suppose the answer is simple: he didn't.
He didn't what? Create men or order circumcision?
My Pastafarian deity does not require dick mutilation. Perhaps you've chosen the wrong god.
Because it's bullshit. I personally don't want to circumcise my boys in the future but I'm worried people will make fun of them in their adulthood, even though most of the world is uncircumcised 💀
The same reason he created hair, finger and toes nails that we need to cut off soon after.
You're not the brightest, are you, kiddo?
That is an awful analogy. Hair and nails are not analogous to cutting off skin.
That`s not a good analogy because the foreskin doesn`t grow more like hair or fingernails, and it doesn`t hurt to cut off hair and nails also, unlike foreskin, if they did, you wouldn`t be cutting them off.
And also, he could make hair and fingernails in such a way that they wouldn`t grow more in length.

Very delicate question, not because of the plain physical and medical aspect, but because of what an answer implies for sometimes fanatical religious people.
God or Nature, depending on your convictions, gave men a foreskin for plain protection reasons of the penis. But sometimes diseases can develop beneath it. I guess the forefathers became aware of that problem and just made a religious and symbolic feature of cutting it off. We must be aware of the health conditions back then. Much more can be said about the subject, but here is not the place to develop it further.
