The khazar nobility and some khazars as far as j know did convert to Judaism and was their state religion for a time but after being conquered by Islam they converted. Its not the first time in history that a nation adopted Judaism usually they did this as choosing a third path that wasn't Islamic or Christian allowing them to remain more independent the Himyarite Kingdom in yemen did this and for a time they survived.
The kingdom of kush in Ethiopia was Jewish state, I think early Jewish settlers married into the local Africans.

Overall the Jews were spread out all over the place from Israel and had cities and settlements in ancient times from Syria all the way to the Arabian coast, ancient babylon and eithopia. As traders the traded a long the Silk road into china and india in the east were found all over the roman empire and hellenic world. Some like spechric Jews thrived in Spain for over 1000 years until they were exiled. The Romans pushed the Jews into exile after the last great Jewish rebellion and they wandered from country to country generally not marry outside their own people some of these groups thrived and remained jewish while others eventually disappeared and were absorbed culturally and racially into the place they were in, like the Jews in China or India.

If it never happened, how do you account for all the archeological evidence? Are ALL Ashkenazi Jews descended from Khazars? No; it may be that note of them are. But records and artifacts of the time indicate that was definitely a mass conversion in the area that lasted at least a few centuries.

Unfortunately, much of the perceived legitimacy of the Jewish "claim" to Israel is rooted in history, and anything questioning that is going to face unduly harsh resistance; you can see the same thing with the natives in eastern Canada.

That's laughable and a minority view at best. A rogue historian is not any sort of credible source.

The Khazars are not Semitic people, and shown genetically not to be so. Hence the researcher has pulled a lot of "research" out their ass.

Also most true Jewish bloodlines are dead and buried. It's why we have no surviving royal family. Lastly you're confusing those of the Jewish faith with those of Jewish blood. The two are not the same. The Khazars are of the faith, not the blood.

No in the main sense, the descendants of Khazars are the Kumyk people of Dagestan. Ashkenazi Jews probably mixed with Khazars to a very small extent that had little impact on their genome.
