Any ideas what this dream might mean?

First of all, no, I've never hurt another human being except in self defense.

Anyway, in the dream there was a lot of violence. My (Deceased) father and I were both immortals like in the Highlander movies. Only thing is I got in a fight with my father and "killed" him and then tried to cut off his head and his head would not come completely off.

In the real world, I had sternly rebuked one of my father's false doctrines about two years before he passed away. I think the dream symbolizes the dividing line of truth. Often in dreams when I dream of a gun or a sword, it represents the Word of God being delivered to myself or someone else.

What was wrong with my father anyway? Well, he actually worshipped Jesus instead of worshiping God. Thats a problem for both of us, because I believe Jesus was a false prophet.

I would guess that remembering your father is haunting you in some way… either because you miss him or because you had problems with him.

In the dream, you attempted to get rid of his spirit, but weren’t able to succeed. It seems like in real life, you want the memories of him to stop running through your head, but you aren’t able to stop them and don’t know what to do about it. You feel a lack of control over that situation.

When I had bad dreams it was because I had a upset stomach in my sleep. As for the Jesus God thing, I believe Jesus is God because what it says in the book of John..

John 1:1-3, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.


Since God is eternal, God was and is the word and was made flesh, that Jesus is God. There are verses that God uses in the Old Testament that Jesus also uses... for instance "Keep my commandments".

Hmm, I suppose dreams do have messages at times. Fine then, If that was a vision from God, he's saying you aren't killing just your father on earth, but your father in heaven by presuming your false doctrines are true and his true doctrines are false. You can't quite "cut off" the truth completely, but a remnant of it still remains in your head.

I have found that one must assume they are wrong, to leave a door open for the potential unequivocal evidence of a potential truth, leaving out the preconceived conceptions of the world that has been embedded in the carnal mind.

You were probably remembering a fight with your father and recently saw a movie, tv show, video game like highlander or perhaps actually highlander and your brain mashed it all up into a dream. That's what dreams are. Mental mashups of your experiences, memories, fears, desires etc. They're not messages of the supernatural. Get real.
