How's Budism a religion if they dont believe in a god?

Maybe read the wikipedia article. The concept is to purify yourself and detach from the world and eventually escape what they think is a cycle of reincarnation.

The only one they might pray to would be Buddah who supposedly returned from the higher plain to provide guidance, making him more like a prophet in Abrahamic religions.

If they do have a concept of God it's more like returning back to the primary energy of creation aka nirvana, than heaven as imagined by the Abrahamic religions.

Some people think that Jesus may have travelled buddist/hindu lands and learned their teachings during the lost years of his young adult life, which may well have been true as there have been period appropriate artifacts found that create a local account of his visiting a few temples.

In any case, there are good points and bad points to be observed within all religions. It's best to reflect on the similarities than grow spiteful over the differences.

Recurring themes like doing good works, charity and altruism without expecting reward are some of the bright spots.

It's not our place to pass judgement on one another in spiritual matters lest we find ourselves judged.

To behave any different just brings the hell on earth of war, and what worthy God would want that for his people?

It's a minor religion. But as it has legal status in international law and is recognised internationally as having set beliefs and customs it is defined as a religion.

There are many atheistic cults in the world.

Depending who you ask Budism isn't necessarily a religion it also heavily depends on your deffinition of religion. On the other hand religion is not rarely described as, a social-cultural system of behaviors and believes. Under that deffinition it surely is a religion.

The Buddha, is their spiritual god of sorts though not a god he is a man who’s teachings inspired most and thus became a religion, it’s not the only religion to do so but it’s spirituality based instead of god based.
