No don’t be silly. Stop trying to make the natural world conform to your puny human-centric version of reality.
As if! - “god” whips up a big bang, then sits on his ass for 4 billon years, then gets bored, whips up the earth for his amusement, then kicks back on vacation until he decides to impregnate a virgin, with himself to have his son, to die for humanity’s souls, in an illiterate bronze age society, & decides then and there that he needs to meddle in the affairs of primitive humans, come up with stupid shit for others to record, and take issue with people’s sex life and whether or not you eat meat on Friday — huh? WTF? I mean gimme a break! (Or course I’m paraphrasing, but still )

The Big Bang wasn't created by God, but by Sheldon and Penny!

and from what? and where is the energy coming from to keep it expanding?

    Maybe?

as best I can tell, everything is about vibration and movement... which includes waves of light. That make God some sort of generator of energy. where God came from... maybe some other God made God? ouch!

I've read enough to know I don't know...

It's just easier to take a leap of faith than to narrow down all the facts.

      this explains it well

"However, an "infinite" energy source still cannot exist because any system will naturally follow the path of least resistance. With Gravity, things fall inward and it takes energy to set them back up. Wind is a result of atmospheric temperature differences, electrical currents require energy to flow, etc.18 Oct 2015"

@canobiwan interesting. It has to be difficult sending all that energy into the universe... against what? What's the definition of the universe and non universe? In effect, it's an energy field yes? This gets into all kinds of stuff in quantum theory, particles, how stuff works. It's beyond me.

I'll stick with Jesus... and hope the scientists sort it all out in due time. It would seem though, if there is a God... God is energy or a source?

@canobiwan what do you think God is? Here's my premise from the Bible:
God... is love! Love to a human being, is an emotion... in essence, a vibration that connects us.
Thus we can communicate with God via vibration, at minimum.

@canobiwan There is an implicit assumption in this that the physics that prevailed in that situation were the same as those we observe now. I don't think that assumption is warranted.

no. many christians missunderstand the big bang theory. big bang theory doesn't say before the rapid expansion "there was nothing". we don't know what may or may not have been there or whether or notwhat we can observe is "all there ever was" or if it's just expanding into something way bigger.

Well, looking at the timing and surface area, if so it would have been a little bang that was more a premature ejaculation of godly powers. He had some practice and pumped himself up so the same thing wouldn't happen with the immaculate conception.

I mean, wouldn't that be embarassing to explode his first baby momma, first planet, first universe even?

Possibly. God's voice is like mighty thunder so when He speaks (as He created the universe with His words) it sounds incredibly loud.

I don't think God created the universe in complete silence.

He caused things to explode to display His great power and majesty.

It seems unlikely. Mostly because there's no evidence for a God. Especially one that cares what just one species on one planet in one galaxy does for fun.

As a Christian that is the assessment I've always operated from. Just because many of God's miracles can be scientifically explained doesn't make them any less of a miracle. Thier improbability only magnifies thier magnificence.

For lack of contrary evidence, yes He did.

The big bang is just a theory, an attempt by humanity to understand creation but really its beyond us and our minds too small. How could we ever understand the infinity of space and time.

@MartaSi yes. It's the theory of the day. They wouldn't call it the big bang theory or string theory is another. Who knows what the theory will be in a hundred years. I mean we have many questions about our own planet that we simply can't answer right now so how do we answer the big questions of creation.

I don't see the problem. It seems like you don't accept the explanation because of a specific word.
More exactly do you think a Scientific theory are?

@MartaSi A scientific theory differs from a scientific fact or scientific law in that a theory explains "why" or "how": a fact is a simple, basic observation, whereas a law is a statement (often a mathematical equation) about a relationship between facts. For example, Newton’s Law of Gravity is a mathematical equation that can be used to predict the attraction between bodies, but it is not a theory to explain how gravity works. Stephen Jay Gould wrote that "... facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts."

@MartaSi why? I'm not a scientist but I know the difference between a scientific theory and a scientific fact. There's every chance in a decade, a hundred years or a thousand years that the big bang theory is dropped after some very clever people come up with another theory that explains creation and they look at those that believed in the big bang theory religiously the way we look at those whole believed the sun revolved around the earth. String Theory also is another theory.

It's funny that you accuse me of not being able to read when I didn't ask you If you know the difference between those two.

Scientific theories are explanation models that explain a group of facts or an phenomena. This is the highest form of explanation model there are in science. Anyone that utter the words "its just a theory" doesn't grasp the term.
