Can Muslims marry Mormons?

@PainusNdeeAnus
According to Islam, a Muslim woman can only marry a Muslim man. If she marries a non-Muslim man, her marriage is void.
As for Muslim men;
Muslim men can marry a Muslim woman as well as Jewish and Christian women. They cannot marry another woman. If they marry other women, their marriage is void.
To be honest, I don't know the Mormon sect very well, but
In Islam, Jews and Christians are called People of the Book. Those who belong to the Mormon sect are considered people of the Book in Islam if they believe that Allah created the universe, that Allah sent prophets and books, if they believe in the hereafter, heaven and hell, and if they define themselves as Christians.
Therefore, if a Muslim man marries a woman who has the Book, this marriage is valid.
However, although the marriage is valid, it is makruh for a Muslim man to marry a Jewish or Christian woman. So it is close to haram. That's why it is recommended in Islam for Muslim men to marry Muslim women.
Yes. A Muslim man can marry a Mormon woman.
Muslim men can marry any women who believes in 1 god.
I heard from a Muslim girl that Muslim men can outside the religion, but the Muslim women cannot, that for the women it's expected that she would convert him before marriage. Either way it's implied that the spouse would eventually convert. If I recall this distinction is doctrine not cultural.
Eyeroll at the idea that a kid can have a religion. But I get the idea. Men are expected to be the leader, so naturally they would expect that the man would be serving as a religious rode model.
Makes sense, thanks for clearing up and adding detail... Kelly... Doesn't sound like a Muslim name...
As an atheist I don't see a problem marrying a Muslim, because to me it's all nonsense anyway, and religion is a personal choice. Ha. I'd imagine she'd be teaching religious dogma, and I'd just be telling the kids, "you know there's zero evidence for anything mom is saying." I'd find it perfectly natural for kids to be exposed to competing ideas and it just wouldn't bother me. I suppose I'd even be fine with my kids being religious nutbags, (as long as they don't commit terrorism) I'd just be completely dismissive.
But from what I observe Muslims are all cultists anyway, so I don't see this being viable really. I thought I met a secular Muslim chick, but like, can't be sure, and I'm not really sure "secular Muslim" is even really a thing. I guess I'm saying that realistically I think I'd expect her to be functionally atheist. Which is how I view secular people. I think most people are larping their religion. You know, except the fanatics, which I think includes like pretty much all Muslims.
