It wasn’t the nakedness that was bad, it was the act of disobedience towards God that was bad.

Genesis 2:16- And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. It was after they took the fruit and ate that they became aware of their nakedness and felt shame.

Genesis 3:11- And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

But they did die. Both physically and spiritually. God didn’t say they would die a physical death right away. But the death that they did die right away was spiritual— it was separation from God. Sin separates us from God, which is a fate even worse than physical death.

Sin literally separates us from God. Separation from God leads to eternal death. This knowledge comes from faith- not blind or unreasonable faith, but faith nonetheless. Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

If god hates sin so much, why is none of it ever punished by god?

To answer the first few questions: It’s possible Adam and Eve would still be alive if they hadn’t eaten the fruit, but it’s also possible that someone else would have come along and eaten the fruit instead. God made the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to give mankind free will—the ability to make the decision to obey or disobey God. To love God is to obey God, and obedience is a choice. That’s why Jesus said, “ If you love Me, you will obey My commandments.” God hates sin, but He loves us more than He hates sin. God is described as both just and merciful. Just—in that He does punish sin. Merciful—in that we do not always receive the punishment we deserve, and we do not always receive punishment right away.

To answer why I have faith: To me, it’s like believing in atoms and molecules. I’ve never seen an atom or a molecule, but I trust in the testimony of those who have. I’ve never seen God in person or even Jesus, but I trust in the testimonies of those who have. I have faith in God’s protection, but I also have sense enough to follow the command, “You shall not to put the Lord your God to the test.”

I don’t expect you to come to faith, but I do hope that you continue to ask questions. It’s good to ask questions. I thank you for them, and I appreciate the dialogue.

Well, first off, it wasn't an apple; Genesis says the Garden was somewhere in Iraq, and apples are native to a part of Asia much further East. It might have been a fig, but that would only work if people who never ate figs didn't know good from evil; that's not the case.

But to your question itself: it serves as a remind to God of the lie He told Adam and Eve- that eating the fruit would kill them. The listened to the snake, who did nothing but point out the truth, that rather than killing them, it would make them like God, knowing good and evil. So they ate it, gained the knowledge of good and evil, and lived for several centuries more.

The core reason for Jesus preaching forgiveness wasn't just to keep humans from one another's throats; it was also so that when the time came, we'd be able to forgive God for HIS sins.

Babies never have been born with clothes, and Adam and Eve were "naked" as they were innocent. But they lost that innocence with disobedience.

Neither fact has anything to do with nudity.

I’m thinking it’s not that their nudity was bad, but when biting the apple they gained knowledge and insight to good and bad so they also realized others might think badly of them and for that reason became shy, insecure and self-conscious hiding and covering themselves up to avoid being critiqued or thinked of in a negative way.

So I think it's not being naked that made it bad. When they ate the forbidden fruit, itvmade them feel shame. Imagine hanging around a butch of smart people and you not knowing that they were openly mocking you. They had a condescending tone or said things you didn't realize had another meaning. Then one day you learned of it. Besides anger, I'm sure shame would be something you felt too.
